Get More Sales With the Right Links

Do you want to get more sales on your web site? It is possible, with the right links, and here, we will look at what kind of links that you should get to get more sales!

The first thing to remember is that the SEO you do on your web site is only going to do so much in results.

Results come when you get links. Why?

Links are how the big search engines like Google work.

What they look at is links, and this link must be quality, as quality is a portion of the score, not just numbers.

Quality links can come from a variety of places, but what you also want to do, is to go through and get direct traffic from those links also.

This way, you can be sure to find customers coming through those links.

For example, there are some web sites, in the social bookmarking form that will get you traffic.

This traffic may just be people searching for things. Another method is to go through and have a look at options with the right methods.

These research methods are more trial and error, and measuring results.

But, there are some web sites online where you can put a link, which can benefit your search engine positions, and also bring you direct traffic.

Often getting number 1 on search engines may not bring you sales. For example, if you went through and ranked number 1 for health, but you are a dentist, you would find that it would be a waste, because people are looking for something related but not necessarily what you are looking for.

So, go out there and get links!

The best way to get started with article marketing is to click [http://readithere.us/signup.php]sign up, and get started! Remember the more articles you submit, the more traffic, the more traffic, the more sales! [http://www.readithere.us]www.readithere.us

The Internet Marketing Treadmill

In the past few days we have discussed the state of the Internet marketing business. Let's just assume for the time being that I am right and that the big search engines will continue to slap the gurus when ever they attempt to automate the exploitation of what should be organic search. Under these conditions, traditional SEO efforts are simply not going to work.

I bought a book on SEO a month ago. It was a new publication. I read it completely through last weekend and, honestly, there is very little left in that book that holds true today. I really feel for the book companies and publishers. This can't be welcome news. I think this will tend to affect those who want to get into the Internet marketing business as well. How in the world does one ever get enough information into one's head fast enough to get started. My observation is that the business is changing almost faster than a person can read. By the time you order and receive that $197 course from Russ the Guru, that marketing process has probably gone obsolete.

I think that this is one reason that so many courses are bought and never used. I once ordered a course on "Traffic Secrets" a few years ago. It was a nicely packaged case loaded with CDs and course material. The problem was that the "on-ramp" was just too long. By the time I was one third of the way into the course, I was already getting emails from other gurus who were pointing out the search engine changes that made my stuff obsolete.

Getting started in Internet marketing today is a bit like jumping onto a treadmill that is already moving. You have to watch it for a few minutes to get the cadence, then when you are ready you hop on and immediately assume the pace. At the same time, you cannot take too much time off. If you go away to Hawaii for three weeks without your laptop, then expect some significant pressure to catch up when you return. But this is not to say that it is a difficult momentum to hold. I could keep it on cruise control with about 2 hours per day of concentrated work. We'll talk about what it takes to be organized enough to pull this off in another article.

What I really wanted to highlight today is that the new gold rush is approaching fast. With a mobile market potential out there of over 5 billion people, there is no excuse for anyone not to be able to earn a significant income online. It is easier today than it was last year. But it will require that you abandon some old habits and adopt some new ones. The world will continue to change whether you participate or not. Find your best source of proven and reliable information, then fully endorse it! You will never look back.

Content Freshness - How to Update Your Website Content

Social Media marketers make a huge hue and cry about the importance of updating content on one's website and this, without knowing the Hows and Whys of it. This often results in a skewed content strategy for your website and the desired results are..well..thrown out of the window. Search engines Love Fresh Content and Social media marketers too love hearing about it over and over again.

According to them, constant fresh content on a website would attract and encourage search engine crawlers (or robots) to visit the website more frequently. This would thus have a direct effect on the improvement of search ranking of the website or the web page. The influence of the same on search results has been widely discussed. But what comprises of this fresh content is still a question not many have dwelled upon.

Keeping in mind that upgrading of content remains a very effective SEO tool available to webmasters, such a strategy needs more than just meaty content pushed into your web pages. If the primary motive in this exercise is to get better recognition and ranking from search engines then you should know that updating content is more than just creation and posting of content everyday on your website. Rather it is a meticulous task that requires a planned schedule; more like a newspaper or a magazine column which follows a strict adherence to a particular plan of action. What kind of content needs to be posted onto a website, when it needs to be posted and in how much amount it would be posted is the holy grail of effective website content.

Now let us have a look at the advantages of updating your website content regularly:-

1. Introducing a News column that provides relevant and reliable information about your product/service or anything related to it would definitely encourage visitors (with a common interest) to visit the site more often.

2. By providing links in your news stories, you can facilitate the search engine crawlers to follow those links and reach the desired web page.

3.: By having important and meaningful keywords in your content updates or news stories would also have a positive effect on the search rankings.

4. One way which is slowly but surely catching the attention of SEO's around the world is integrating the company's social networking presence with the corporate website. This automatically enables fresh content on the website along with highly engaging web-page environment. This is something which immediately attracts the visitors and encourages them to spend that extra time on the website and maybe share the content or the experience with others too.

Apart from adding new content on the website, one should also look towards adding new web pages on the website. This would provide a number of advantages in the form of:-

1. A new web page means a new entry point for the visitors as well as the search engine crawlers.

2. This provides the added opportunity to get quality links from other websites onto that page. But that would happen only if these high quality websites find the content on your new pages to be highly relevant and worth sharing.

3. The increased quantity of links from other websites obviously has a positive repercussion on the search engine visibility.

In all this, one should always remember to optimize the new content accordingly and never lose focus while obsessing with content creation itself.

Why Do We Need Tools For Working Online?

Once you decide you are going to use your computer at home to help boost your weekly pay, or maybe even be able to tell your boss, "I'm Resigning" you then begin to realize you need tools.

So what are these needed tools?

Everywhere you look someone says, "the money is in the List" or words to that effect.

So how do you get a list?

Where do you start?

Who will show you what to do? Is there any information out there that is free to do this or must I pay for all this?

What if I am on a Govt Pension, or a Dis-ability Pension, how can I possibly get started online without the necessary funds to purchase what is needed for starting a business.

After all, there must be things one needs even if you are building an online business. Somebody said the easy way was to make a blog. They said this was a Web Log shortened to Blog, and that they are free and all you do is write like you are making a daily journal sort of.

Okay, so what do you write about? some say you choose a subject which is in popular demand today.

How do you find out what people are looking for?

There must be a way to sort through these needs or else the Internet would not have so many Web Pages on it, and millions more being made every day. Does one need what some call "your own piece of Internet Real Estate"

Most of these questions have answers I know, but where to start looking? Well the Search Engines, or SEO's as they are called is a good place to begin.

You may be looking for Web Sites or Domain names, or how does one get traffic to a site? Why is "Traffic" needed? I've seen sites that are called Word Press Blogs, and others called "Blogspots". It really is quite confusing for beginners.

These were some of the many things I asked myself some years back when I first decided I needed to find a way to make some extra dollars online.

I was only a Pensioner of 68 at the time, (quite a bit more now) but the Pension left us with more month than money as they say.

We weren't able to take holidays like other folks did. Rent kept going up but Pension stayed the same.

Even when we finished paying off the car there still didnt seem to be enough left over to save at the end of each fortnight.

So I began my long and actually rather expensive search for a business, or at least the way to make one, to help me earn those extra dollars online. I got myself onto some newsletters as I thought they would be bound to have all the things I was needing.

That was not a good idea! Cost a lot of unnecessary money, which I need not have spent at all I have learned since then.

To cut a very long story much shorter, I finally woke up one day recently when I went back to an old program I had joined some years ago. About 5 years back I believe. The gentleman who created the business, had set it up to try to help others earn online like he was.

To this end he created many different tools which are all needed to build an online business. Auto-responder, Tracker, Rotator, mailing list areas, etc, etc.

Everything was all there. So I duly paid my monthly subs as they became necessary. Then I decided it was much less expensive and simpler if I paid the whole lot at the "one time only" cost. This I duly did and became a lifetime member. However, I didn't get very far as I was much too independent to ask anyone to show me how these tools worked.

I really was clueless to a lot of it. Especially how the actual auto-responder part worked. Consequently I made so many mistakes, and only 1 sale, so I decided that didn't work!

So what would I do now? What a lot of others do when they come online. Chased the strings and strings of sites that come up claiming to have the latest and greatest fastest way to make an income online!!!!!!!

How could any of us be so blind as to believe half of that rubbish! I believe in our desperation to become better off financially we seem to throw out normal caution straight out the window!

However, I have recently found there really are some very genuine people out there in "cyber-land" who actually are more than willing to help others.

I have been very blessed with a lass who really knows what she is talking about and is wonderfully helpful. She even gives Free info to those who search it out. Its great info too.

Also, I went back to my original place where I had become a "lifetime member" and found, Yes, they would help and show me what to do.

All I had needed was to ask. Amazing what happens when you start to put your chickens in their correct rows as it were and really begin to "think straight". Things fit into place then and it all comes together.

I have spent this last week reading, writing, reading again, making sure I have done what was required correctly, and now find things are falling into place correctly.

I am now getting traffic! I expect by the end of this week to actually be making sales after all these years of useless "chasing dreams".

Reality is where it is at. Sure, you need your dreams, but you also need your cool calculating common-sense to make sure you do things in order!

As someone said "if you continually do what you have been doing, then you will keep getting what you have always got."

That is so very true. So today as I am writing this I sincerely trust others may be able to read this and receive some help from it.

I make myself available to those who seriously want and need help. Particularly Pensioners or those who are technically challenged as some of us are. Computers were not an easy thing for me to learn, but I have mastered a good deal of it now and am able to give others a helping hand now too.

I am now a 72 year "young" Pensioner living near a beautiful beach on the Central East Coast of New Zealand.

In writing this Article I am speaking mainly to others who are Pensioners like us and need some extra dollars online each month to make our Pensions stretch a bit.:)

I now use a blog which is still progressing as I learn more about these things with time.

At our age its not always easy to grasp how it all fits together so I have done what I hope will help many others.

Using Auto-Responders (one of these Tools I spoke of) is not easy to learn. At least it wasn't for me.

After I asked for help, I found it quite a simple task but very powerful, so now I am able to support others who find it difficult too.

If you should find yourself in need of some genuine assistance please contact me and I will be only too pleased to do so.

Perpetual Traffic Systems - Down and Dirty Part 2

n the last article we talked about the state of conventional Internet Marketing systems, about how technical it is, about how the gurus mostly just play you, and about how the goal posts are constantly being moved by the big search engines. How does the average Internet entrepreneur keep up? Well, mostly you don't. You continue to fork over your life savings - $97 at a time. All that is about to change.

I've already talked about how we build a business based on the traditional Internet marketing model. We'll call it Internet Marketing 2.0. You build solid websites - populating them with valuable content. You become good at on-page and off-page SEO and you demonstrate daily human activity on those sites. In a few months, you will be sitting at the top of the pile! I tried an experiment with a friend a few months back. He's just a kid (35 years old) - part of what I call the "attention deficit generation - ADGs I call them. He wanted to be # 1 on Google overnight. I tried to tell him that it's just not going to happen. He walked away from the domain and so I played with it for a few days. I tuned up the graphics and re-worded the content so that it was keyword rich.

I included proper "alt" tags on all of the graphics. I made good use of white space and I put the opt-in box above the fold. Twice a week I made a few content changes on the site. I used Google Alerts to find me the blogs and forums that talked about my niche market. Every single day I visited 10 of those blogs or forums and made contributing comments - leaving my URL in the author resource box or signature block. After three months this website ranks #1 on Google out of 11.2 million sites. That is nice but let me give you a few statistics that really put this situation into perspective.

A recent study was released showing the click habits of those visiting Google's first page. I was totally blown away to find that in the advertising block at the top only 2-3% of people clicked on those links. The #1 spot achieved between 31 and 45% of the clicks! And every single one of those clicks is FREE! the right side bar ads received a paltry 1% of the clicks.

I called my friend on his attention deficit device and told him to go search Google for his niche market. He was absolutely shocked. I told him that now that it is at the top, he'd better go put some product on it so he can start making money!

I have perhaps oversimplified the SEO parts here in the interest of brevity, but most of it is there. There are a few other techniques I used that help out a lot too.

There are an estimated 1.1 billion people on the net searching every day. If you have a passion, I'm betting that you can get a tiny little piece of that action without too much blood, sweat and tears. I hope to tell you more about how to achieve that in the coming weeks.

What is a Plug-In, Anyway?

If you're new to the blogging world, or if you're starting your own website for a new business, odds are you're a little overwhelmed by all the terminology out there. You've got to buy a domain name, find web hosting, and then choose a content management software that is user-friendly and that offers the flexibility and options you need.

Once you choose your content management software (and odds are you'll choose WordPress) the site still isn't finished. You've got to choose a theme (something that requires a lot of thought and consideration) that fits your purpose, and you've got to work with that theme to make it work for you. One way you can do that is by utilizing the many plug-ins that WordPress has to offer.

But what is a plug-in? By definition, it is a software add-on that performs a specific function in the scope of a larger software application. So, it's something that you add to WordPress to make it do something it doesn't automatically do all by itself. You've seen those commercials where they say there's an "app" for something? That's basically what a plug-in is. It's an added application that adds a special feature to your website.

One of the categories for plug-ins relates to search engine optimization (SEO). These tools work to make your website rank higher on the internet's search engines. They help those search engines find your website better than they can find other websites, making your website come up in searches, which then increases your traffic.

Another plug-in category relates to media. If you work with a lot of photos and/or videos, most WordPress themes need a little help when it comes to really making those images or videos pop. There are plug-ins that can even allow you to display your photos in a Flash slideshow.

A very important plug-in category is the one that relates to your site's stats. You can track how much traffic your website gets, what type of visitors it pulls in, and what keyword is drawing them in. You can also see what search engine they're using to get to your site, and whether or not Twitter or another social media site is bringing in traffic.

Speaking of social media sites, there are plug-ins related to that as well. You can install a plug-in that will automatically tweet your posts, and you can even expand that plug-in to tweet other internet posts that relate to your content.

Another helpful plug-in type is one that manages and blocks spam. There is a surge of comment spam on today's internet, and some plug-ins help flag and filter spam comments so that you don't even have to moderate them. This is a great time-saver, as well as something that helps your website maintain its credibility.

There are many plug-ins out there that will help you realize your fondest wishes when it comes to your website. Make sure you choose plug-ins that offer support, since a lot of WordPress theme creators do not offer support in regards to plug-ins. Choose wisely, and you will not be sorry.

Perpetual Traffic Systems - Down and Dirty Part 1

I've been writing about the changes in the Internet marketing business for about a year now. We all know that there are a ton of people out there just itching to get going at this, but what is stopping them is the rapidly changing environment. Just when you think you have it figured out, the search engines change their algorithm and you are left with your $197 useless product.

I find it quite amusing that some of the smarter gurus seem to be beginning to understand that they can no longer sell automated "out-of-the-box" solutions for Internet marketing. Some are panicking, and others are scrambling to put together new $197 packaged solutions. The theme now seems to be that they want to teach you how to get perpetual traffic to your site for free! You and I both know that nothing is free.

Just as a side note, one can tell that they've all been learning from each other. They use the standard tricks of the trade. First tell everyone you must be nuts for offering the product. Then tell them that by the time they finish watching the video, the product may be taken down or sold out! They call this trick "scarcity".

Some nig-nog somewhere decided that if you and I perceived the product to be in short supply, we would try harder to get it. That is like the realtor who wants to put a "sold" sign on a property that sells! When my last home sold, I made the realtor take the sign down. The property is sold and therefore no longer available. If he puts a sold sign on it, it has no value to me. And after all, the sale of my home is all about me - and not the realtor!

I recently reviewed three micro niche marketing systems that claim to be able to make you get all the free traffic you can imagine from a silly little loophole that the big search engines left open. The rich media presentations they use to promote their concepts do little more than try to demonstrate to you how complicated the system is and why you really need their support and services to navigate your way through.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is that they want yet another $197 of your money so that they can send you electronic wares that they know 99.4% of you will never put to use.

Look, the bottom line is that paid search is declining. They've torn up the rule book and burned all existing SEO models. Whatever you do, don't buy a book on SEO that was published before July 2010! It would be pretty much useless to you.

Organic search is now king. This means that you must have great content on your site. You are going to have to focus on content for the first couple of months, and then when your site starts ranking on page two of the biggest search engine, you should shift gears toward refining your on-page and off-page SEO. Of course, hand in hand with organic search you will find the concept of measurable human activity. Human activity is going to be used by the big search engines to grade your page. I am going to talk more about this in detail in my next article.

Make Money on the Net - Five Simple Ideas to Increase Your Earning Potential

Extra Income

With the current economic times being as tough as they are, many of us are looking for creative marketing ideas on how to make money on the net. If you are just beginning to set up a new home based business online I have a few easy steps you can take right away to start marketing your small business.

Technical Know-How

Building an online business and learning how to make money on the net is not only easy, it requires no specialized technical skills to get started. Starting an internet business allows you to learn as you go. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and know that not many of us were able to achieve our successes without making some very big missteps. Keep learning and you'll do fine.

Five Simple Ideas

1. Affiliate programs offer the beginner a great way to start making some extra money. If you have already set up a site or blog that is tailored to your specific market niche, all you need to do now is locate some related products and promote them on your site. You'll earn a commission for every sale coming from your site.

2. Online surveys are another way people are making a little extra cash. Companies will pay you to review their products and fill out surveys in return for a small payment. While this is perhaps the most simple method, it is limited in its earnings potential. In other words, no one gets rich filling out surveys but it can add some extra cushioning for you.

3. Develop your own virtual product. If you have an expertise in a certain area, consider writing an ebook or putting together an online course. You can also offer clinics and seminars to teach others about what you know. Once you have a product developed, you can then start your own affiliate program for promoting it.

4. Virtual store fronts can be set up in which you can offer a product line for your specific niche. Dropshippers offer inventory catalogs for you to choose from. You simply promote the products on your store front and send the dropshipper the cost and shipping information. It's a very fun and easy way to make some extra money online.

5. Freelance work is available online like never before. If you are a writer, administrative assistant, web designer, programmer or SEO expert there's tons of jobs available. Sites like Elance can help you find someone who needs your services.

Dedication

No matter what path you decide to take to make money on the net, know that as with all successful businesses yours will take time to grow. Be prepared to dedicate time each day to learning more about and improving your business skills. Keep an eye out for the latest trends and creative marketing ideas that can give you an instant boost.

5 Tips That Can Help You Improve Your Chances of Being Found on Google

Here's an extra tip we'll throw in for good measure: steer clear of any black hat tricks that are designed to cheat the system. When it comes to web design and SEO (Search engine optimisation) play fair, play by the rules, and your website will not only stand a far better chance of being found, it will stay there too. We specialise in web design in Chester and we have seen plenty of websites that have been removed from Google because their rules have been broken.

Search engine optimisation tip 1:

Assuming you already have a website, take a close look at the code. Is it W3C compliant? Can screen readers (and Google) make sense of it? Is the code as lean as possible? We often remove javascript from pages we are asked to optimise and move all styling into external style sheets.

Search engine optimisation tip 2:

Analyse the competition. See how much competition there is for your chosen keywords and find out as much as you can about how the competition is chasing for their traffic. Install Google Analytics to measure your results and set sensible goals that can be achieved over time.

Search engine optimisation tip 3:

Insert your chosen keywords into ALL meta tags, not forgetting the TITLE tag, which should be unique on each page. Create an xml sitemap and make sure Google knows where it is.

Search engine optimisation tip 4:

Create great, unique content. Use keywords intelligently in your text and don't over do it.

Search engine optimisation tip 5:

Get high quality links from other websites or blogs to your website. Be very choosey and always opt for quality over quantity.

We always remind our rel=nofollow [http://www.roodee.co.uk]web design Chester clients that SEO is an ongoing process that can take considerable effort over a long period of time. If a website needs a Google presence quickly and the wait for a rise through the organic listings is too long, we recommend a Google PPC campaign.

How To Promote Your Online Business - What You Need To Know

An online business takes a lot of consideration. You must know how to begin one, create a site, design it, set up payment options, and ultimately promote it. This last step is one that many people forget, or perhaps-just do not want to deal with, as it seems too complicated. This said, promoting your site is just as important as having one. If you don't promote it, there's no point in having a site. Why is this? Consider how many sites there are online. How will people find yours? Only with the help of knowing how to promote your website will you be competitive with your market and make the profit you want. If you have never successfully promoted or marketed a site, there are a number of basic steps that you can take-without having to be a marketing guru. I explain these below.

Directories: The first aspect that a novice site promoter should know about is that of directories. There are many online directories that offer subscription a free and an annual subscription, and are a helpful way of directing web surfers to the types of businesses they are looking for. Directories will help categorize your site according to niche and market, and this-in turn, helps your search rank.

Your Website: Though it may seem basic, it is always necessary to revert back to your website to make sure you are promoting your business in the most effective manner. Look at it objectively, and consider its basic aesthetic and usability. Is it easy to use and shop? These are necessary points to consider-especially if your business is exclusively online. It is also the place that you will be directing your more direct promotional efforts back to, so it is necessary that it is professional and convenient-otherwise, clients will just leave without purchasing a thing.

Learn Online Marketing: Though the terms SEO and SEM may strike fear into even the most brazen of business people's hearts; it shouldn't as there are varying degrees of internet marketing-and you don't need to understand and implement all aspects in order to reap the benefits. This said, you should have a working knowledge of both terms, in order to compete for the customers in you and your competitors' market. Most information can be found online regarding search engine marketing and search engine optimization if you have the time and energy. If you do not, hiring a consultant or a company trained in these areas could be your best option.

Email Marketing: Aside from basic internet marketing, a person with an online business should always keep in steady contact with their online clients. The best and most effective way to do this is through email marketing-that is emailing your customers on a regular basis. You can have your clients sign up for a newsletter that tells them about sales, promotions, and new products; and this way, you are sending emails that have been requested, instead of spamming and turning potential clients away.
