Why Do Moms Need Websites?

The desire for owning a website has spread through every nook and cranny of our everyday lives, from businesses to clubs, from teams to personals. A trend that has noticeably taken wing is Moms with websites. But why do moms need websites? Who would want to dribble over endless photos of little Johnny & Judy as they sloppily lap up their ice from a bowl face-first? Or still pix of little Tommy frozen at bat as he prepares for a career in the big leagues 15 years from now?

Besides Grandma & Grandpa, probably no one. So why DO Moms need websites? Aren't the lives of stay-at-home-moms pretty generic and predictable? With most of their day spent in playgrounds and kitchens, playgroups and buggy brigades? Apparently not. The internet has given creative moms quite an outlet for creativity, and mind-expanding directions for earning a living while little Suzie naps.

Many moms have stepped out of the workforce to stay at home and raise a family. But why do we think that because they are no longer commuting, their brains have dried up? That because they have a little spittle on their shoulder that their sense of business moxy has been expelled as well? Or that all of their useful creativity is now wrapped around baking marshmallow Chex squares and sock puppets?

On the contrary. Today's American moms have more outlets for creative inspiration and raw ingenuity than ever before in history. The driver of that ingenuity is the internet. The net has become a savior to the sanity of many truly intelligent stay-at-home moms, as a way to expel their creative juices and to challenge their savvy business skills. In addition, they get to voice their opinions and stretch their marketing muscles in ways that are more challenging than the skills required to sell brownies at the school bake sale.

Online Stores

A common area of growth for today's 'digital mom' is when she blends her homemaking interests and skills with her money-making savvy: Setting up an online store for selling crafts, jewelry, gourmet items and even the barely used clothing that Junior has outgrown. Building an eStore challenges our 'digital mom' at so many professional levels, from learning the skills required to build and maintain the store, to the skills required to ship product, maintain inventory and keep a good set of books. Not to mention the new-found skills of marketing her webstore online and in the community.

Blogs

Blogs are great for the digital mom who loves to problem-solve. Or who has brilliant ideas that she is willing to share with the rest of the world. Blogs are less of a commitment than writing a novel, and are terrific for distributing the virtuous knowledge on just about any and every subject in the world. Some fun moms are blogging about at-home skills like "How NOT to select the Right Diaper" and "Rubber Duckies: Testing Bathtub Toys", "Today's Multi-tasking Mom" and "Working Between Naps". Other moms are condensing the skills they left behind in the workforce and breaking them down into bite-sized nuggets that others in those jobs might use: "5 Things a Female Marketing Director should Know" or "8 Ways for a Waitress to Earn More Tips". Blogs are a terrific way for our digital mom to think concisely about topics where she is already an expert and to hone her always-valuable writing skills.

The Minivan of Inspiration

The everyday life of today's mom is inundated with ideas that are worth sharing or expanding in a myriad of directions. For instance, the simple act of driving the kids to school in the morning is fraught with a bouquet of hysterical surprises that pop out the mouths of their babes, and will usually wind up in her latest Digital Mom's Blog for the rest of the world to take inspiration from.

Our Digital Mom is developing new and useful skills at home as she has never been able to do before. These skills make her more employable, as they are not skills that are readily taught in the typical workplace. How many offices teach their employees about building and maintaining a website? About balancing their budgets while creating an inventory? About online marketing, Search Engine Optimization, not to mention the business benefits of the burgeoning world of Social Marketing?

Today's Moms are no longer content to feel left behind by the working world. On the contrary. They are forging new ground in so many fun, social and business areas, and they are fast becoming the envy of the traditional Commuter Mom. All this while little Jason naps.

Are You Sitting on Your Gifts and Talents?

If you know that you have been blessed with natural gifts and talents are you sharing them with the world or are you sitting on them? Are you making a difference in the life of someone else or are you waiting for the perfect time to follow your calling? It is important to be aware of the fact that if you are not sharing your gifts and talents with the world then someone is missing out on what you have to share.

There should never be an instance where you are keeping all of your gifts and talents to yourself because you are not being effective for anyone. And you are not even being fair to yourself. You deserve to feel that feeling of fulfillment because you are making a difference, and living out your purpose.

Even if you don't feel confident about sharing your gifts and talents, it is important for you to step out in faith and God will do the rest. If you constantly think about all of the things that could go against you it will never happen. So think about all of the things that you have going in your favor, even if it is just one or two things.

Too many times we keep our gifts and talents hidden from the world, because we don't feel like we have anything important to say or we don't feel like anyone would be interested, but that is just not true. If God has put it in your heart to share your natural gifts and talents then He already has people for you to come in contact with. Don't think that no one wants to hear what you have to say. That can keep you in bondage for years and you may never develop the confidence to share your gifts.

I am guilty of once sitting on my gifts. I knew inside that I had been blessed to make a difference in the world. But I didn't quite know how to make it happen. I prayed and asked God to show me how to use my natural gifts and talents to make a difference, and once I stepped out in faith I never looked back.

When we are blessed to be a blessing. It gives us an internal reward that money could never buy. We have inner peace, joy and happiness because we are not just sitting on our gifts but we are sharing them with others. We are sharing them with people who may feel hopeless, discouraged, frustrated or stuck. Those are the people who need you, they need you to step out in faith and share your gifts with the world. If you don't someone maybe missing a piece of their life fulfillment puzzle, and you may be holding that critical piece.

There Are No Instant Riches on the Internet

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have received and email offering "Instant Riches" online. Unfortunately I got sucked in when I first started in this business, and spent more money than I could afford on "guru" systems and started thinking that there was no hope in Internet Marketing. Then I realized that an Internet Business is no different than a real world one. There is no Quick Fix, no Instant Wealth.

The first and most important thing you need to determine as a new Internet Marketer is why you want to get into internet marketing. What do you hope to accomplish? What is important to you? Knowing yourself is as important as understanding the world of online marketing. So sit down and take a good hard look at yourself and determine WHY you want this.

Most real world businesses take YEARS to show a profit, and that is even with the best planning, the best knowledge, and the best circumstances. It takes market research, product development or sourcing, and the best people available. Internet marketing is the same. You need to research what people are searching for, find the best products and partners that can help you learn and overcome your weaknesses. Buying a hard drive worth of "systems" is not going to provide any of this.

Don't plan on "set and forget" Plan on spending hours a week after you get back from your full time job. Plan on networking on social sites to find people that you can share with and bounce ideas off of. Plan on researching trends to determine the best niche to focus on. This is not going to be easy. It will take hard work, determination, and time. Make sure you are prepared for what you are stepping into.

Working From Home - Brainstorming

Growing up was great. Mom and Dad took care of everything. When we wanted to eat, mom and dad were there. When we wanted clothes, mom and dad were there. When we wanted money to spend, mom and dad were there. Everything we wanted was taken care of by mom and dad. Well, mom and dad need a life of their own. It is their reward for taking care of us all those years. Time for us to move on.

Now we have a job and are quite able to survive on our own; taking care of our needs and working for the life style we want. Nice house, great car, beautiful family. Want to keep it all? Start planning now. Or, if you are not a person who plans ahead very far, maybe what I have to say will help.

So what happens if you do lose your job and everything you worked for with it, or you have already lost it all? Things gang up on you; where to live, what am I going to drive, where am I going to get the money to put food on the table. Chances are, you have already tapped mom, dad and all your friends for whatever they can give - money or their time to help you move or hold your hand while you wonder what just happened. At what point do you reach your lowest point? You get depressed, friends and family avoid you. You are attacked a thousand different ways and after a while every time the phone rings shudder in fear because of who might be on the other end. Worst of all, your family, that you love so much, starts turning against each other. Maybe you are on unemployment or getting some small help from somewhere. When is enough - enough?

Time to start thinking different. Most important of all, you must remember, you do not stand alone in this situation. There are hundreds of thousands of others in the same situation or in a worse situation than you are in now. You do not have time to play the "blame game".

The first, most important vital thing you must do is to take care of your family. No, they may not be living the great way they did in the past, but, if they are comfortable, they can live. Knowing they are safe will give you more peace of mind than you can imagine.

Finding a new or second job to make your financial ends meet is crucial to your existence. If one job does not bring in the money you need, get two jobs, look around the house to see what you can sell. whatever it takes.

You need some time to think and clear your head of all the problems you are getting hit with. At this point, this seems to be a pure luxury. I suggest you go to someplace very quiet, and take a deep breath, literally, and let it out slow. Take as many deep breaths as you need until the feeling of shear panic you are feeling goes away.

Now, get a paper and pencil and write down all the problems you are facing. No matter how small or big. A problem is a problem. Do not leave anything out, you cannot control or solve what you do not know about.. It does not matter how big the list is. It does not matter how small the list is. Look carefully at your list of "items" and put them in order as to what is most important. Look for things that are really really hot, like water or telephone getting shut off. Make a quick call and ask them for help and extending the due date and ask them to take a partial payment. Shut off's cost more money. Now, take the problem at the top of the list and solve it. Believe me, the rest of the items will wait for your attention and not go away. They will be there when you are ready to handle them. Focus on the one you decided to work on. Get rid of each problem systematically so it does not return, whether it is getting a payment made on time or paying off something, whatever it is, it can be fixed. Get a budget and stick to it. Don't forget to put a little money aside, $5, $10, whatever you can afford, and do not touch it. As you get more money, you will add to this fund until you have a good amount for emergencies.

Everyone talks about the "box" and how staying within the guide lines of the box ensures your success. Let me introduce you to the box. It consists of four sides:

1) go to school,
2) get a job
3) work the job and
4) retire.

As we grew up, we all were taught to think inside the box, or we would not be successful. Guess what? Look around, the ones that have stepped out side the box are doing ok. Oh, they have lost, but not what you lost. Time to reshape the box, or just throw it away.

Going back to the original plan of survival (or the box) will not work this time around. First of all, you will not(unless you are extremely lucky) find a job that pays the same as the one that just disappeared, no matter how educated you are, Lets face it, times are tough, the economy is nose diving in quick sand. And, you find yourself applying for one job where 400 others are there to apply.

Making ends meet is getting harder and harder and stretching the income from your steady job seems unrelentingly difficult. You need to look for that extra income that will help you make those ends meet. Have you thought about working from home to make extra money? This is something everyone can do. You do not even have to have a steady job, just the will to live better. Working from home can be done in the spare time you have, even it is only a little spare time. It does not require you to answer to anyone but yourself. You know how much you need to make your "ends meet" financially. You do the bills every month...you do the math. Finding what you need is a lot easier than you think. Obviously, you like the way your current life style is going right now and you want to keep it, or you just want to improve you and your family's lifestyle. Combining your steady job with working at home could be the answer you are looking for so you can keep the life style you have or get the one you want to have.

People who have steady jobs face the fear every day of walking in and finding that they have been replaced, or worse, the company has decided to move out of the country. What do you do next? Throwing up your hands in despair is not an option. However, taking preventative measures so you do not lose your house and cars to the banks is just pure common sense. That is where working from your home in your spare time needs to be looked at seriously. Finding a second "steady job" only takes you away from your family for longer periods of time. And, you have to ask yourself; "Does (or will) the income from the second job cover the extra money you need for your family to live comfortable, or does the money fall short again, and you will still trying to make ends meet?"

However, if you have already lost your job, look at all the options available to you. Combining a "steady job" with working at home could be the answer you are looking for. You have a chance to restructure your time, income, and way of living. Finding some work that you can do from the comfort of your home in your spare time can turn into something where you can match or exceed your "steady job income'. This, of course depends on how much effort you put forth to accomplish what you set out to do. There are a million things you can do at home to make money. You need to earnestly look for them. And you need to work your plan that you have set up. Remember what I said before, anyone can walk into their steady job and find it gone; on the other hand, the income that you have developed by working from your home stops only when you stop working. Therefore, you are in control of at least that part of your income.

In order to work from your home, circumstances dictate that you start thinking different. Time to step outside of that box and see what is there. Let us get started with brainstorming. How does someone brainstorm? Simple.

Get a pen and some paper. Start by writing down ideas. Just start writing everything that comes to your mind. Do not decide at this point whether or not it is a good idea, just write it all down. Everything silly, far-fetched, outlandish, down to earth, serious, if you can think of it, write it down. For example, write the things you like to do, your work experience, what kind of vacation you would like, whatever you can think of, write it down. It does not matter how crazy the thought sounds, it is an idea, write it down.

When you are done, look it over your list. Pretty long. Now you have to sort through the list to see what you came up with. Start another page, label this page "master", and break it down into 3 columns:

1) work,
2) hobbies and fun stuff and
3) dreams.

Go through the list you just made and put everything you just listed into one of the columns on the new page. Set this page aside.

Now, do the same thing, but focus on your hobbies and job experience. What you like to do and what you are good at doing. Again, write down everything no matter if it seem too little to mention, write it down. When the list is done, label this list "experience", then you are going to make sort this list into two columns;

1) hobbies or fun stuff and
2) work experience.

Set this page aside.

Next, you have one more list to make. This time you are going to focus on ways to make money. Step out of the "box". Get some more paper, list all the ways you can think of making money. Garage sales, doing landscaping, pool cleaning, typing, accounting, writing, drawing, painting, programming, engineering, where ever you talents lie, what ever you want to do, write it down. Label this page "money making ideas" and make 3 columns;

1) second job,
2) Business from the home and
3) internet.

Sort the list into these columns.

Just a note: Working form you home does not mean you have to work for someone else, you can start a small business and work it from your home. There are things like landscaping, pool cleaning, house cleaning, window washing, janitorial service to mention a few. Maybe this is a good time to clean the garage and sell everything you do not need. It is a short term fix, but it is also a good start to making money working at home. Remember, you can add to any of the lists when you think of something new.

Now take all the pages you just did and line them up side by side. You are going to compare the following columns;

1) work and
2) work experience and
3) hobbies and fun stuff.

Anything stand out to you? Do you see a pattern? Look for the things that fit together. The experience that you get playing with you hobby could well influence your "steady job". You should see a pattern. Face it, the talents, or skills, we use are not that much different when we are playing with our hobby or working a job. You just enjoy our hobbies better. It is that simple. Think of your hobby for a minute. You do it when you want, how you want, no one is telling you what deadline must be met and so on. While you are working your hobby, you are in a great frame of mind, you are excited and everything is right with the world. Now you must apply what you like doing, really like doing, to making money.

Get you list of "money making ideas" and sort through it looking for the easiest and least expensive ways to make money. Remember, nothing is impossible, especially if you really, really enjoy doing it.

Everyone, and I do mean everyone, has a specific talent, or skill, or something that they are very good at. Find yours by brainstorming, then use it to make money.

Using the information that I just gave you is how I started making extra money. When I started looking on the internet to find something to do from home, I found so many jobs available, it is unbelievable.

I hope that this has helped you. Good luck and best wishes with your project.

I am a 63 years old. I have two daughters, 3 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter, and of course two Cocker spaniels (spoiled rotten).

I have done a lot of different things in my life to make money. I am a certified journey man; I have done high tech jobs; I have done receptionist jobs; I am a certified meat cutter; I am a home maker; to mention a few; and for the last 20 years I have owned and operated my own commercial cleaning business.

With the economy not doing so well for all of us, I realize that everyone needs some financial help now.

So I started a blog/web to help people find work to do from home. I want people to have a reliable, safe place they feel comfortable coming to when they need to look for work they can do in their homes to supplement their incomes.

Should You Find a Job Or Build Your Own Business?

Summer is here and school is over. For some, this can be a defining moment of their lives. Probably, you've just stepped out of college and earned your much coveted degree and you're in a quandary as to what to do next. Finally, you've attained independence and are set out to make your mark in this world.

A significant phase of your life is over, and you're ready to enter a much more exciting chapter of the adult life. You're young, raring to go and there's a lot out there in the world for you. I bet what's in your mind now is how to make a living, and how to make it good. So you're thinking where to submit your resumes, what type of career path you're going to take so you can begin to build a life of your own.

Definitely, you are at a crossroad. Should you find employment or get into business? What's the best way earn your keep and build on your wealth at the same time? It is a great idea to find employment. Living on a regular paycheck will give you some sense of security, and you will learn a lot of disciplines when you work in the corporate structure. There's much to learn while working with other people, and you get to establish contacts if you're thinking of setting up your own business in the future.

A nine-to-five job may be taxing, but I advise you to get into one not just for the pay, but more for what you will learn when you interact with all types of people. A nine-to-five job will teach you valuable lessons on teamwork, deadlines, work ethics, and most of all - persistence. But if you're thinking of building security for your future, that's not something a regular job will be able to give you. From my own experience, yes they take part of your earnings for a retirement fund, you get social security and health care, but if you're looking build wealth and create income that will continue to come in even when you've stopped working, you have to step into the investment arena of business.

The best situation you can find yourself in nowadays is to have a regular job and involve yourself in some wealth building activities on the side. In time, you will be capable of leaving your nine-to-five job and dedicate your time to your business investments, and still have lots left to dedicate to some of your favourite pleasures. The key is to know how to create wealth, and build on it continuously.

You can build wealth that will generate you sufficient income even if you've stopped working. What is important is finding something that can generate passive income for you - meaning it is an activity that brings in the bacon even if you don't actively work for the cash. Interests, stocks, bonds and investments are some examples of this.

What most people don't know, or what stops most people from exploring the world of investing is pure lack of knowledge. A lot of people think you cannot go into investments unless you have the cash to do so - that is entirely wrong! Of course, investments require that you put in something of value, but there are a lot of ways to secure what you need to get into the field of investing. This is called leveraging, and it is what the experts use to build their wealth. Leveraging is simply using a financial vehicle to create wealth. Sometimes it can be borrowed money, but what you can earn from it is usually a lot more than what you have to pay for on a loan, for example.

Creating wealth, building assets and preparing for retirement is something everyone can get into. You can even start investing from your own home. The trick is to know what works and what doesn't. Take time to learn or hear it out from investment experts so your efforts give you back more than what you think there is to it!

MLM Network Marketing Opportunity - There Are Many Opportunities to Choose From

Online network marketing is a great industry to be involved in with many business opportunities available. In fact there are so many opportunities it will take you time to make a decision on the opportunity that is right for you. Before you sign up to any business opportunity, or spend any money, become educated on the industry so you can make an informed decision. It is better knowing the opportunity you have chosen is a fit for you up front than later down the road after you have put your effort into your choice only to find you can not get it off the ground.

Part of the education you need in the beginning is being able to discern whether the income opportunity you are looking at is legitimate or not. In the past there has been many opportunity seekers that have joined an opportunity, put many hours of effort into their new opportunity only to have it taken away from them when the company was shut down by the authorities for not conforming to the definitions of a legitimate company. You also need to know that any monetary investment that was needed when you joined is not going to disappear with the company owner should they decide to shut down and run. We would like to say that this will not happen but unfortunately it has. When looking at an opportunity take the time to investigate the business owners and see if they have integrity now and in the past.

When joining any business opportunity some investigation into the compensation plan will give you insight into the business model and the behavior it drives in the field. This is a very important aspect and depending upon your personality type you can determine whether you will be successful. With these various compensation plans: Aussie 2-up, binary, matrix (of various sizes), stairstep breakaway, unilevel and various combination of those mentioned, may not be suitable to your personality type. If you are not a pushy sales person and the compensation plan drives that behavior, it will lead to frustration and failure. The compensation plan needs to favor your personality type.

A second aspect of the compensation plan that you may want to consider. Is all of your income up front money or a residual income or a combination of the two? You may want to be looking for a residual income to carry you through your retirement where you can sit back and reap the benefit of your hard work. You want to work smarter and not harder so ask yourself a question. With the business opportunity and the compensation plan therein how many active distributors and product customers do I need to make a walk away monthly income of $10,000?

Does the business opportunity you are looking at, or presently involved in have a system for duplication? A system for duplication is very important otherwise you and your downline are left to fend for yourselves when it comes to building your business. You should be able to duplicate what your upline is doing with the same results. The timeline for duplication will be different for each individual depending on the time spent working on the business. Not everyone has the same amount of time to spend so results will vary. There needs to be ongoing training for yourself and your downline. The bottom line here is, your downline needs to know they can do what you are doing and see desired results otherwise they will become frustrated.

One very important aspect of network marketing is finding a mentor that will take you by the hand and lead you to the road of success. A mentor that is currently building their business and willing to give you their most valuable asset...their time. No one can build their business alone, it takes teamwork under the guidance of a mentor who does not tell you what to think, but how to think. Successful network marketers will tell you they did not build their business alone but with the help of a team working towards the same goal and in harmony.

Going into an online business for yourself requires the education, skills, proper tools, a mentor, self development and a team behind you that is willing to lend a helping hand. Most of us have worked for others and have stepped out to be our own boss in our own business opportunity with very little education and skills. Set yourself up to gain both while you are building your business with the aim of helping others become successful in their endeavor. When you become a mentor with a servants heart you will understand the importance of putting others first. When you help others become successful, your success will take care of itself.

Last thought, you should enjoy what you are doing so remember to have fun building your business, let others see you are having fun, it just might attract them to you and your endeavor.

David Bruce Mills invites you to his blog http://thetwodees.wordpress.com and begin your journey in gaining the education and skills you need to be successful online. Your first step in becoming a critical thinker.

How to Handle Challenging Life Event During Crucial Times of Business

When disruption in daily life happens it can take a toll on the self employed/home based business owners/entrepreneurs. When I say that, I don't mean that people who go to office to work are not affected, but I wish to share my comments/observations as an entrepreneur.

When natural calamity like floods, storm etc strikes, we as entrepreneurs, need to be really strong and come to terms with reality. We must do whatever it takes to choose to let go of feeling like an adult victim and allow us to connect with our child core-self ( I mean the child within) and borrow faith and love from it. What do I mean?

March is a busy month in terms of servicing my clients, filing Tax Returns etc. When the flooding happened, I felt miserable, took it personally and started feeling "Not good enough". I used the external circumstances/events to judge myself. My mind tricked me to believe whatever I thought and dis-empowered me to do nothing and just blame the event itself. When I was dis-empowered, my negative energy showed up in the form of yelling and helplessness. Once I became aware, I decided to implement what I learned from the above book and other audios. I made a choice to connect with the child in me and stopped attaching conditions to love myself. A child never judges its capacity or hurts her inner self because of external circumstances. She is innocent, loves herself and others unconditionally and has faith. A child tries her best, as long as she can. I stepped out of my adult mind and thought like a child and said to myself-Lalitha, instead of judging yourself and have the ego coming in your way, allow ( here the key word is allow) yourself to feel it is OK and be helped by your family, friends, clients and service providers. The moment I made a choice to think differently, magic happened:

I felt guilt free to receive and acknowledge help form my husband, children, nephew, neighbors and clients. A plumber came in at 11 PM EST to work on the Sump pump, even I had great energy to do some heavy work (heavy for a thin person like me), I had excellent clarity to take the next step without feeling burdensome/overwhelmed. My clients'/ezine readers' best wishes and prayers poured in.

Let me share how I handled the challenging life event during crucial times of the business with these simple tips.

Tip #1: Use the knowledge gained from books, audios on self development to become aware and choose thoughts to empower YOU. Don't panic, ask help, use internet and research for answers. If you don't have electricity, use cell phones to phone a friend, neighbor. As simple and easy it may seem, with the addiction to internet/texting, we tend to forget. We ladies, moms can relate to this. Call your Insurance Company, Prepaid Legal Services lawyer to learn about your rights and responsibilities. Make a list of every small task and classify them into three parts-a) to do now, b) delegate and c) schedule for another day.

Tip #2: As we get used to getting water, electricity, heat/AC every day, we don't realize how lucky we are! Thank God everyday for having these privileges now and in future and thank yourself for being able to access them. For me personally, I found thanking in advance for anything, keeps me fulfilled, motivated and optimistic.

Tip#3: It is OK for letting your clients know about your challenging situation. However be honest in keeping up your commitment. They too face challenges and you won't believe, how much they would love to help you, especially if you have built trust.

You started your Enterprise to fulfill your dream! Just learn form every adversity and use these lessons to become better and do better.
