How to Share A Compelling "Story of You" On Your Website

Your clients want to know you. In the offline world, you would invite a good client out to lunch or coffee, and in the online world you can do almost the same... even better!

Building an online business in today's new economy places you in a highly competitive marketplace, yet those who understand how to enjoy rapport with their clients will prosper. Building relationship and trust online takes time and effort but you will be rewarded richly!

Establishing rapport is best done in relational story form. Your auto-responders, newsletters, and blog posts should all be written in a relational form, as if you are talking conversationally to your ideal client in their own language.

Would you like to know how to set yourself apart from all the hundreds of thousands of online competitors?

Knowing how to craft a compelling story about you (not just your products, services, and business) will give you the edge over other marketers in your niche.

There's a common saying, "Facts tell and stories sell." In the New Economy nothing could be more true!

Stories are the relational super glue that bond families, marriages, organizations, and nations!

Here are some key tips in crafting a compelling "story of you" online:

Let them see and/or hear you! You can use videos, audio, and photos to offer clients a peek into your world. People want to see your face and they want to know who you're connected to and what you're interested in. It's kind of like inviting them into your kitchen for coffee. This is part of your brand.

Share from your heart... be unique! Don't be an "imitation" of someone else, no matter how much you wish you were! It just won't come across as genuine and you will turn clients away.

Share your unique selling proposition: What is the reader going to get from visiting your site? Be direct. What is the problem you are solving in a way that sets you apart from everyone else?

Include the "story of you"... a brief life story:

Today's best business coaches, such as Sandi Krakowski and Dani Johnson, begin their seminars by sharing their life stories. It's normally very brief and to the point... no fluff! The purpose is to come alongside your client so she can identify immediately with who you are and will be open to embracing what you have to say.

Include a few key points about your life. Be transparent. You don't have to embarrass yourself, but be real. Know what your ideal client is thinking about, talking about, and is wanting. Talk about those things in your own life story and you will build instant rapport. Let them know you understand how it feels to be in their shoes!
Share a low point in your life... one that you have overcome. Share your journey and your successes. Your ideal client will connect with you and be inspired! It might be a weight problem, financial challenges.... basically, where you hit "rock bottom" and how your life turned around. What is the urgent, pressing problem you are addressing for them... and how you found the unique solution that no one else has. Keep it personal and don't be a salesperson.
Share your vision... why you're doing what you're doing. What will happen is that your ideal client will feel a strong connection to you. They're going to say, "I feel the same! Show me how I can be part of what you're doing!"
Share a clear call to action... whether it's your free gift, a newsletter, or whatever you want them to do. You want them to opt-in so that you can continue connecting with them.

Use BOLD to stand out. Break up your text. Use short paragraphs. People like to skim and if there is a lot of text, long paragraphs, and complex wording they're going to check out early and not read through. Mix a few photos in. This is true for all online writing, by the way!

Now, here's the only hard part... If you're like many people, writing the story of you is a little tougher than writing about someone else! The majority of people strongly dislike writing about their own lives.

Do you feel uncomfortable writing about your life? Does it seem like a daunting task to begin putting the pieces of your life together in such a way that you are genuine and real to others without being embarrassed?

The biggest challenge I have been hearing from my clients is that they feel their story is not interesting... or that if people really knew them it would turn clients away.

My recommendation is to hire a professional copy writer who specializes in life stories. Building trust online is essential and learning how to properly share your life story is a vital component to online success!

The Importance of Storytelling

Storytelling Marketing is an essential component of any business venture, especially a Home Business. Typically, a Work from a Home Business endeavor is not one in which a large marketing budget is readily available to promote your Home Business. Short of having a war chest of marketing dollars, what methods are available to promote your home business?

One way is by telling your story online with video. Telling your personal, authentic and truthful story online via video will establish your personal brand faster than putting it into words on a blog post. Video paves the way for people to instantly see and feel your passion. Video allows for personal emotion and feeling to be seen, not just read. The effective use of Video will lay the required foundation needed to establish trust and associate credibility with your offering.

Why tell your story? Consumers are attracted to new and different messages. Importing a video onto your blog laden with text immediately grabs the attention of loyal readers and new readers. As we all know first impressions are the most important, and typically, the first impression is ones final judgment of you and your offering. Establish your first impression as a meaningful one with a review of who you are, your story and why someone should consider partnering with you.

Video ideas:

Who are you?
Personal story
Your path to where you are today
Learning's
Areas of expertise
Successes and failures
What motivates you?
How you improve your knowledge
Passions in life?
Goals - why are they your goals
What qualifies you as someone others would want to partner with?
Discuss what the future holds for visitors to your site

Telling an authentic story online is crucial. You must backup what you say with results on a consistent basis. The authenticity of what you say will be how your prospects and customers judge you moving forward and will be essential if you hope for your prospects and customers to tell others of their experience. Remember this point: Great stories are work repeating. Make sure your story is worth repeating. Be authentic; share your success and how you achieved it. Most importantly, be sure to convey how others can duplicate your results. The bigger your story, the more important the message becomes. Storytelling To Build Your Credibility Online - How Your Story Makes An Impact on Your Prospects

When I was teaching 5thand 6thgraders in the inner city of Los Angeles, many of my students had full time responsibilities at home. These included cooking, housework, and caring for younger siblings. While I am a firm believer in children helping out around the house, this went far beyond what is usually expected in a family. I became an advocate for my students, explaining to the adults in their family that they already had a full-time job as a student in my classroom. Soon things would change at home, and my students went on to do extraordinarily well in academics, sports, and citizenship during the year they spent with me. I kept track of many of them as they continued through middle and high school, and their success continued in many cases. By building a relationship with the entire family, and not just the child, I had a far greater impact on the lives of the students I was teaching. I always said that once you had sat in the kitchen, holding a baby on your lap while the family prepared dinner, the relationship with that student and the people they lived with was forever changed.

This is an example of storytelling. It affects everything we do, no matter if it is related to business, family, politics, or other aspects of our lives. We remember the stories we hear, and are more likely to pass them on to others. You must incorporate them into your online business if you want to build trust, credibility, and community within your niche.

The story I share above tells you something about the type of person I am. No matter what you already know about me, this story sheds light on my personal belief system. In less than two hundred words you are able to connect on a deeper level with who I am, what I believe, and how it relates to what you want to learn from me. This may seem judgmental, but it is how we all decide who we will connect with in our business and in our lives.

We all grew up with stories, and storytelling has been a part of the history of mankind. These stories were passed down orally from generation to generation, and finally became written works. We remember great leaders in history by the stories we have heard about them. Our stories make sense of where we came from and where we are going. Stories help children to understand how to make the transition from childhood to the adult world. Trying to connect with people without using storytelling is like trying to paint a picture without color; it just doesn't communicate all of the details.

What is your story? We all come to the Internet with a rich background of experiences, hopes, and dreams. By sharing these with your prospects and clients, they are able to know you much better and to relate to what you have to share. They can also gain more insight into the ways that your story touches upon the very reason they have come to you in the first place.

I remember a teleseminar I hosted during the beginning of 2007. One of the participants asked me when I had become serious about building my online business. I answered honestly, saying that I got serious when I received a letter from my mortgage company a few months previous to this call. They had noted that I was sending my payment in a little later each month, and even though I had not been late, it appeared as though I might be headed for problems in the near future.

As I shared this with the people on my call I began to choke up a little. People have remembered this story for all of these years, and many still write to me to tell me how it made them feel when I was willing to tell such a personal story. They could relate to what I had said because we were in a recession at that time and people everywhere were feeling the effects. I was not embarrassed by this because I knew I was doing the right thing to focus on building a business that would give me more control over my finances. That letter from the mortgage company motivated me to make a bigger effort than I had ever made before.

Practice telling your stories in person, to the people who already know you. Share something about your life they may not already know. Be vulnerable, without telling anything that would be too personal. Look for the moral or main point in your story, and think about how that will affect those who hear it. Remember that we must tell stories that people will remember and share with others, or we will simply be forgotten quickly.

Remember that the reason to start an Internet business is to give you the time and money to live the life you choose. Internet Home Business Stories

While you are performing research for learning how to get your own Internet home business started, you will undoubtedly come across many success stories of previous Internet entrepreneurs who have come before you. You may be wondering what you should think about such stories. Some of them simply seem too good to be true, so should you really believe them? Here are a few things that you might want to keep in mind when you are reading an Internet home business success story.

The first thing to keep in mind is that sometimes these stories are completely made up in order to sell you an empty promise, IE an internet home business. This is not always the case, and in fact this may very well be a minority of the stories that you hear or read. However, if the story is accompanied by someone who is holding a large check and who is urging you to purchase their program so that you can get a large check of your own - then you should view the story and the offer extremely skeptically.

The second thing to keep in mind when you are evaluating stories like this is that the person who is telling their story will often downplay the amount of hard work and all of the failures that they had to go through in order to achieve their success. Most people who have achieved success with their own Internet home business have been extremely ambitious and persistent people. From the perspective of other people, it sometimes looks as if they were someone who simply spent most of their time goofing off at their computer trying to build there internet home business rather than getting a real job. Then practically overnight, they got lucky and became a huge success with the internet home business. Although this may be the story that you hear about many successful Internet entrepreneurs, it is often better to get the story straight from the horse's mouth. However, even when they tell their own story, they still may not be completely forthcoming about how much they desired success and how hard they worked to obtain it. If you are going to become a successful Internet home business owner, then it is likely that you will also need a burning desire for success.

Finally, many people don't mention in their story how crucial a good coach or mentor was to their success in building there internet home business. If you try to become an Internet entrepreneur, then you will probably hear from every single person that you can't do it, it can't be done, and every other reason that you shouldn't do it. A good mentor will give you the confidence that if it can be done by one man, then it can most certainly also be done by you.

Your Successful Sales Page Structure That Gets Results - Part 1

1 Your headline tells them if they're in the right place. It's no good trying to sell to somebody who isn't looking for or interested in your product. So make it absolutely clear in the headline what you're offering. Give them the top benefit of your product, preferably with numbers and with some emotion to get them to read on.

2 The sub-headline or first paragraph must lead them on further. Get them increasingly interested by repeating the main benefit and hinting at other benefits that they'll be shown later. You must maintain their curiosity at this point so they will smoothly read further on to find out more.

3 Tell a story about the product. Make this emotionally appealing. You have their attention so keep it with a story and emotions combined. These are two of the strongest elements you can use. Tell the story of your links to the product you created or how it's not only helped others but changed the way the work successfully.

4 Use details of your authority to back up what you're saying. You can include some information about how you came to create the product and how it's changed the way you do things. Keep the level of emotional connection going. Give information that shows you know what you're talking about which, in turn, raises your authority in their eyes.

5 Use sub-headlines throughout the sales letter. There are two reasons for this. First, when people scan over the page, which they will do, make sure it'll give them the story of the page without having to read all the details. Second, have the sub-headings point out what is coming in the following section. In each of these cases you want them to go back to read the whole page. This deepens their absorption in it.

How to Build a Automatic Personally Branded Marketing System

Personal branding consists of creating a brand name for yourself. This is where you create a presence of yourself online. The idea is to build relationships with your list or potential customers. It is proven that people only do business with people they know, like, and trust. There a few key elements in starting to build a relationship with someone you have never met online. Having a custom landing page, a customized auto-responder system, and a link back blog are three crucial elements in building relationships with strangers.

Now since we are alike in that we are educating ourselves on how to market online for the same reason; money. Money is what is going to allow time freedom and financial freedom to become a reality. In order to make money you have to have a place to send your advertising efforts to. This is called your sales funnel and is where all of your customers will come from. With this in mind we need to talk about a having a "Customized Landing Page." This is the first thing your visitors will see when they respond to an advertisement online. This page should be simple and to the point. It should generate curiosity and also relate to the person watching it. A very critical element to this custom web page is having a photo or video of yourself on the top of the page. It should be seen as soon as the page loads without having to scroll down. I recommend recording a video because people like videos. Your video should be an introduction of yourself and short story about how you were motivated to market online. Remember the purpose of this page is to encourage the viewer to enter their information and become a lead or prospect. That being said you will want to have an information capture box on your page as well. More information about where you can get this feature further in this article. If you focus on creating a landing page based on these few topics you will convert more visitors into prospects.

It is said that nothing is ever sold online until the seventh exposure to a product. Every online business needs a way to stay in constant contact with their customers and potential customers. An auto-responder system can do that for you. These systems gather the information your visitor entered on you landing page and starts to automatically send out customized emails that you design to help keep constant exposure to your lead. AWeber is the best system online in my opinion because you can create unlimited lists and you own your list of customers. Once you get set up with AWeber you will want to either upload a series of sales letters or start writing your own. It is important that you focus on writing or customizing these emails a little at a time. Most campaigns consist of 60 or so emails and as you can imagine, writing these emails could be very time consuming. Focus on writing one or two a day. Just stay ahead of you customers receiving the letters. One trick to helping create a paycheck from people that decide not to go into business with you or purchase your primary product is called monetizing your list. Monetizing your list consists of adding one or two short advertisements to the bottom of your emails in your AWeber system. These advertisements may be to other affiliate programs you are involved in or tools you use to build your business like AWeber. These simple advertisements could help you generate all of you advertising costs.

Another awesome free thing you can do to better your relationship and gain more exposure is build a free blog. In the internet marketing arena these are known as link back blogs. This is a link that you can add to the bottom of your auto-responder messages as a place to meet you. EX: (meet andy mclean here) Blogging is growing ever more popular everyday and Blogger and WordPress have got the most exposure on the net. Both of these are free to set up and very easy to use. A personal blog is a very important thing to have because you want to have a customized site where people can go and read about you and your story. Your story is very important to your leads because it lets them know you are human and have real life challenges as well. A good story is a true story. Think about what you have been through and what reasons you were brought to the home business and internet marketing world. What did you do before you started marketing online? Why is it important that you succeed in your new business venture? All of these topics are things the reader can possibly relate to. You want to relate to the reader in how they may be feeling. The last thing I can say about writing and telling your story is BE YOU! Be funny, compassionate, and the person that you know you would want to be friends with.

If you want to see your business explode you should implement these topics into your business immediately. A customized landing page with a video will create enough curiosity with your visitors for them to submit their information. An auto-responder system personally branded and monetized will stay in constant contact with your leads and could help generate an advertising budget. The link back blog will assist in telling your story and building strong relationships with your leads. Make this happen in your business and you will see a profound impact on your marketing efforts.

Creating a personally branded marketing system can explode the results of your online business. Auto responder system allow you to stay in touch when your away. These are all very necessary tools in building a successful internet business. For more information and guidance in exploding your online business click here: http://automatedmlmdomination.com

From the Minds of Millionaires - How to Succeed in Your Home Business

I am reminded of a story that I once heard from a preacher, I think his name was John Maxwell. Rev. Maxwell told the story of a man who entered his Donkey in the Kentucky Derby. This is a very timely story, since the Kentucky Derby is only days away. I can't remember the whole story, but the bottom line is that people thought the man had lost his mind for entering a donkey in the Kentucky Derby.

The derby is one of the most prestigious races in the world and only the finest of horses have the honor and privilege of running in it. How could this man even let the thought cross his mind that his donkey actually had a chance to win? Well it turned out that the man was not crazy after all. You see, he knew that the donkey could not win, he just wanted him to be able to associate with the finest of horses, hoping that maybe something would rub off on him.

The moral here may have been a little stretched for a donkey, but it holds true in all walks of life for people. As a parent or a grandparent, you watch closely who your offspring associate with. You want them to associate with children of good stature and reputation. As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together and you are hoping that the children of influence will rub off on your children.

Now think about your friends and family. Who do you hang out with the most and enjoy being around the most? Chances are that they are very similar in a lot of ways to you. If you have friends who are striving to achieve and/or have achieved, they are probably pushing you either directly or indirectly to do the same.

Now, there is nothing wrong with a good old fashion friend. My BFF and I have known each other for over 40 years now, but it is always good to have those that will push and inspire you. My advice to anyone would be to add these kinds of friends with you want to accomplish anything in life. In my business endeavors, especially a home business and network marketing I am able to learn on a daily basis from millionaires who have paved the way. If this appeals to you, I urge you to act now. Making Money Online - A Gold Mine For the Home Based Business

This is my story of how I found what I believe to be the "most" transparent and profitable business model that every business person and entrepreneur should become a part of. It was in December of 2009 and I was in a very difficult financial situation. I was searching online, trying to find "the right" business model to become involved with; if there was even such a thing. At this point I was not certain that there really is a legitimate way to make money from home as an entrepreneur, that idea just didn't seem to be real. I had seen thousands of "get rich quick" schemes out there as I am sure you have as well. I was tired of all the fluff that these companies offered and didn't really know if I could trust any of them. Maybe this is how you feel as well.

It was on an evening that I was just looking for "franchises" online and came across a video explaining how this person had been in a franchise business; actually 2 of them, and lost both due to the recession. His story was so transparent and warm it drew me into reading more about him. I will be honest with you here, there was a lot of reading. It took me about 1 hour to read his story and completely changed my life. He had explained how he was more than $200,000 in debt from his failing franchises. WOW, I thought I had it bad, but here this guy was in real "financial despair". His story was so intriguing that I had to keep reading. He had come across a business that had transformed his life in more ways than just money. He found, what I have now learned from being in this business, true wealth. You see, you can have all the money in the world, and not have true wealth.

This night completely changed my life along with the lives of countless people I have come across. One thing I have learned while being part of this community is the term "Dynamic Wealth Creation". This term referred to helping other first get what they want out of life, regards to wealth, health, and wisdom, and the rewards will come back to you ten fold. This is the kind of wealth that will transform your family for generations to come; not only the immediate life you are living right now. This was so profound for me to think of and has forever changed the way I view wealth. See, most people have a concept of " Once I achieve great wealth, then I will be able to help others, give to charities, and pass on what I have learned to my family.

Dynamic Wealth Creation is a different way of thinking and is so powerful in "helping others first, instead of thinking about ourselves first. This will create true wealth for generations to come.

How a Child's Story Will Help With Your MLM Business Leads

You will generate all the MLM business leads you want if you'll stick to this simple principle. I was listening to our chaplain tell a story this morning. He was talking about investments (he runs a finance series) and how the long term always pays off.

The story is the The Tortoise & The Hare.

I know you've heard the story but here it is...The Rabbit & the tortoise decided to have a race. The rabbit, being of superior speed, challenged the tortoise to this race thinking it should be an easy win for him. The tortoise maintained a slow-but-steady pace and did not deviate from his goal. He was focused on his objective. The rabbit, on the other hand, was full of pride. He took off at a high rate of speed. After a short period of time, he decided to take a nap to show his contempt for the tortoise.

The tortoise plodded on steadily. When the rabbit woke from his nap, he saw the tortoise near the finish line and was unable to catch up. The tortoise had won! The moral of the story applies to success in your network marketing business opportunity. If you keep working at a consistent pace, over time, you WILL succeed.

The same is true with the generation of an endless supply of MLM Business Leads. If you keep working, it will happen! You WILL succeed. There are 2 questions that you need to answer:

If I don't work this like I should consistently over time, where will I be in 3-5 years?
If I work it consistently, where CAN I be in 3-5 years?

You can't sign up for a network marketing business opportunity and expect it to happen without effort on your part. It may take work and it may take time. However, it WILL happen if you have the focus of the tortoise! If you don't know how to generate AT LEAST 10 new leads every day, YOU MUST get this FREE Report NOW!

ACN Team Builders - Communicate!

A fantastic speaker, Dan Clark, gives a great message on the power of effective communication. Apply his principles and you can build a dynamic ACN team.

Communicating successfully is a vital key to your ACN team.

30 minutes late, a little girl walks through her front door. "I've been worried sick!" scolds her mother, "Where have you been?!?" The little girl explains that she walked her friend, Mary, home and on the way she dropped her doll on the street and it shattered into pieces. Mom says, "So you stayed to help put the doll back together?!"

"Mommy, I didn't know how to fix the doll. I just wanted to help Mary cry."

This is communication!

Sometimes, as an ACN team builder, you need to be that shoulder to cry on. Building a MLM business can be hard sometimes.

There is a story of a fantastic basketball player, in fact the best the state had ever seen. All state 3 years in a row. His mom attended every game. Home and away for 3 years. She was completely blind.

What is the meaning of this story?

Even though she wasn't able to see him...he could always see her. Even if you aren't watching your ACN team members, they are always watching you.

With our without words, support is one of the most effective communication tool that we posses.

Two important principles to discuss. Whomever controls the hearts and minds of the people controls the people. Along with whoever asks the questions they also control the conversation.

The media is controlled by 6-8 people according to the book "Hollywood vs America." They do this by controlling the questions that are asked. They understand that they can control public perception by asking questions to solicit the response they want.

Asking better questions will lead to better answers and that is a fundamental responsibility of an ACN team leader.

By combining the two, controlling the conversation with quality questions and influencing the hearts and mind of the people the you have defined effective communication. A dynamic ACN team builder has the responsibility to see all sides of the story and to check all sources.

To wrap up, a great story that Dan shares is a story that he wrote while in junior high school. This story gets to the bottom line of effective communication and that boils down to one word: understanding.

"Puppies for Sale" hangs in front of a store front. Now, signs like that have a tendency to attract young children. A little boy appears at the front counter of the store asking, "How much are the puppies?"

"Since these are some great puppies," explains the owner, "they are $35 each." The little boy pulls out the $2.37 he has in his pocket and asks to see the puppies. The store owner smiles and whistles for the puppies out from the back. Bringing up the rear is a little one with a severe limp.

The little boy asks, "What's wrong with him?" The store owner explains that the veterinarian discovered the pup was born without a hip socket and it would always limp, it would always be slow.

"That's the one I want!" exclaims the little boy.

"If you really want him, I'll just go ahead and give him to you," says the owner.
