So is it for real can we really do well working from home, or are we just led along the garden path by sales men selling us a pipe dream? So there is this sales page, where they start by telling you how awful your life is, with the day job that pay's a pittance and you are worn out, depressed and not really living at all! Ok we know all that, don't need to feel any worse thank you! So next they show you how wonderful their life is, yachts, cars, homes.....oh please!

Ok we took the bait and they hooked us in, great we going to get there now! Really? How many times have you been here, so excited by the promise you heard, but then you are left on your own to get on with it!

Some of these programs are ok and you can make them work, but, that is if you know how! If you are completely new to this, then I am sorry you do not stand a chance unless you are technically knowledgeable!

I for one am sick of seeing the same old thing, do they all use the same spiel sheet? Wow it drives me mad, they must think we are stupid! They tell us how they are sick of us being ripped off and they are different, oh? So why do they use the same pitch? So we are offered the world for a small fee, that was the hook, then the next page and the next and the..., and so it goes on each page higher priced than the first!

Can someone please be different? You buy whatever, but then there is all this marketing lingo that you just don't understand! If we are new to this we need simple coaching, and don't they understand that if we are taught the first steps we will come back for more?

I am here to tell you that yes, indeed it is possible to earn a very decent living working from home, if you have a proven formula and someone to guide you! By all means look at all the sales stuff, because there is learning here, probably how not to do it! Before you buy, check them out! Google their name, who are they and what do people say about them. What Did They Tell You?

In the spiel on the sales page, what did they tell you that you were going to be doing, what exactly is this formula? Have they got one? Did they just tell a story of how you were going to become rich? By doing what!

I remember a program I bought early on, and the guy said as soon as I got into the member's area how unethical it would be to get a refund, guilt trip? I am sorry it is unethical to sell me rubbish! If you don't like it or cannot see it will work for you and you can't get any help, then get a refund!

Firstly I think that we can all agree that getting stuff to sell it pretty easy, it's the make a profit bit that seems to be the stumbling point. Let us look at a couple of different options that are pretty painless and see if we could possibly put any of them too good use.

What I would like us to focus on just for the moment is not on selling products but on the stage that comes quite a bit before that, namely on acquiring the products to sell in the first place.

The vast majority of people that come onto eBay and Craigslist come there because they are interested in buying products not in selling them. Of course there is the other type of buyer (especially on Craigslist) that is interested in buying the product so that he can sell it (usually on eBay).

The main problems associated with buying items to sell are:

Finding them in the first place.
When you have found them getting them delivered to your address.
Then selling them for a profit.

Let us just look at these three stages in reverse.

Selling for a profit. If you are going to buy an item with the hope of selling it at a 20% profit then you are what's generally considered as 'sailing close to the wind' if the cost of either the listing or the posting is even a tiny bit over what you thought that it was going to be then you will not make any profit on that sale.
Getting them delivered to your address. This can be a major burden and it can make all the difference in the world between a profit and a loss. The simple reason being that the burden of this part of the deal is completely yours. You cannot pass that on to anyone at all. This can decide on a profit or a loss.
Selling them for a profit. This can be made possible by simply making sure that whatever you have to sell that you acquired it reasonably locally so that you have paid either minimal or no postage at all, and that there are not 100's of other people selling exactly the same thing. But when you sell the item then the responsibility for paying the cost of the postage is solely the responsibility of the buyer, not you.

If you can follow those guidelines then that will make all the difference between making a profit or a loss.

Let us explore a few different options together. But trust me, there is no magic wand.

Firstly I should just like to make this point, this is not a game it is a very serious business. Let us assume just for a moment that you find a distributor who is willing to supply you with merchandise and you reach an agreement with them and everything is going fine.

Let us take it a year down the road and you have a good following on eBay, you have both your regulars and your new customers and everything is going great, your feedback is good, eBay is pleased with you and you have a good understanding with your supplier, Christmas is on the way, orders are coming in and everybody is happy, and then.....

You receive twenty orders from customers, and so you place the orders by email to your supplier for them and you get this email back: Sorry we are out of stock at the moment. Merry Christmas.

That way you can cut out the drop shipper plus you can deal directly with the manufacturer yourself, so you save all the way round plus manufacturers very rarely run out of stock (and you save on postage as well).
Another very good option is this: Go back in to Google and type in: Wholesale Trade Shows I think that almost every major city in America has Trade shows, of course they may not have the one that you want but then again it doesn't hurt to look (there maybe one nearby) keep in mind that their only reason for being at a trade Show is to get Distributors to distribute their merchandise, so why not you?

Just as a parting thought the two groups that we have just discussed, these are the people that supply Drop shipper companies, they are the ones that get the profit from between you and the manufacturer, why let them have it? always deal with the manufacturers if you possibly can, Good Luck and Good Hunting.
