The Mouse And The Milk

One day in the barn, some mice were running along a beam when it broke and all the mice fell into a churn of milk.

The mice began to swim around and around but after a while some of them got tired and stopped swimming. "don't give up" squeaked one little mouse."keep swimming" But the other mice didn't listen, they were tired, hopeless, undetermined. They stopped swimming and eventually drown in the milk

The commotion caught the attention of the other animals in the barn and they gathered around the top of the urn.

"You'll never make it, Give it up, it's impossible" they all yelled down at him. But the little mouse kept kicking his little arms and legs furiously. After a while the other animals got bored of watching and went about their usual day, sleeping, sitting around doing nothing and gossiping. They enjoyed telling each other how the little mouse would never make it.

Meanwhile the mouses little friend looked into the urn and saw his friend swimming around and around. he didn't want his best friend to fail, he didn't want his best friend to die. he started to shout down words of encouragement.

"That's it, keep swimming, keep it up, you can do it, I believe in you"

Encouraged by his friends words, the little mouse began to kick even more, he kicked and swam, and kicked, and waved his arms and kicked some more.

Then an amazing thing happened. The little mouse swam and kicked and waved so hard, that he turned the milk into butter. Once the butter was thick enough the little mouse climbed up and out of the churn and walked away with his friend. Much to the surprise of the other animals.

The moral? Well I am sure you figured that out for yourself.

Many people will (and probably have) told you to "give up, it wont work, don't make waves, go with the flow " etc. But if you want to be successful, If you REALLY want what you say you want, then you need to be like the little mouse and never give up, no matter what the other animals in the barn tell you.

An Insight On Some Swimming Strokes!

Just like a camping activity is incomplete without camping supplies or other outdoor camping gear, a swimming space is incomplete without the knowledge of swimming strokes. Any swimming stroke is a precise method to move your arms and legs in order to thrust them against water and force the swimmer onward.

Swimming is basically a sporting activity that requires several different types of strokes. Technically, a swimming stroke is nothing more than a particular means of thrashing your arms and legs, in order to move your body onward through the water. The key is that there should not be too much water splashing, while doing your swimming actions. This is mainly an assurance that your onward movements are going even and does not tend to get jerky. Read on to discover details regarding various swimming strokes.

Here is what you need to know about different swimming strokes:

Butterfly Stroke

It happens to be the toughest and quite tiring stroke. Mainly, this action has arm movements like a windmill and dolphin kick. While attempting this type of stroke competitively, the swimmer must prevent underwater swimming. The only instant a swimmer can go underwater is during the first stroke immediately after the beginning and every turn.

Breast Stroke

Here again, the body is in flat position. Breast stroke is an action quite different from other swimming strokes. It comprises of arm movements on ahead, straight from your head up to shoulder level. The kick in this case is like a frog that can be linked to this action. However, it is important for the swimmer to keep the head just over the water surface, at the same time continuing this swim stroke.

Crawl

This stroke is performed while thrusting your weight on the front or back of your body. It involves sporadic over the arm movements along with flutter kicks. In crawling, the action goes best when swimmer keeps his head under water while alternating the face side with each stroke.

Sidestroke

Scissors kick is an eminent aspect that clarifies the actions of a sidestroke. It is mainly an underwater stroke that involves the thrusting of your body in onward direction, keeping your body on either side.

Backstroke

In this particular stroke, you have to do alternate over the head arm movements along with a flutter kick in supine position. While in a competition, only fifteen minutes can be spent under water from the start of each turn. After that most of the time, you have to remain above the surface.

Freestyle swimming

It is a type of swimming which gives you the liberty to employ any swimming stroke you fancy, while continuing your swimming workout.

Dog paddle

Dog paddle is the simplest of swimming strokes that makes use of adapted flutter kick. In dog paddling, your action occurs with your arm movement under the water.

Trudgen

This stroke is named after an English swimmer whose excellent speed made this stroke famous. Trudgen employs alternate over the arm strokes also in a prone position. This action also has scissors kick while the head remains on one side.

Learn to Swim the Free Style Way

Free style, also popularly known as the sidestroke, is an interesting swimming style. As the name suggests, it is a free style form of swimming, so there are no strict regulations for this type of swimming. Even the application of water resistant mineral foundation or mineral make up will not penalize you in competitions. Whether the swimmer wishes to choose front crawl, breast stroke, butterfly stroke or the backstroke is completely up to him. However, in case of medley competitions, you will find that the breast stroke and the butterfly stroke are not allowed.

Before learning freestyle, you need to get ready for the training. Gather up all the essentials that you may need for swimming. Swimsuits, swimming caps, goggles, nose clip are some of the basic accessories that every swimmer has to take along while going for swimming. Once you are all geared to start learning, then here are the tips that will teach you how to swim using this style:

• First of all, you need to understand the axis of your body running from the chin to the chest. This is basically the pivotal region of the body. This region should be extended horizontally by your movements while swimming.

• Keep your legs straight and loose and point your toes out, then kick up and down in the water. It's the kicking practice that you need while doing the free style swimming.

• The movement of your arms should be flexible like a windmill inside the water. Make sure that you move your arms opposite to each other. When one of your arms is in the extended position, the other one should be all the way back along the side of your body.

• During the freestyle movement, your palms should remain flat such that the thumbs are separated from the index fingers. Bend your arm such that you can draw your fingertips along the imaginary axis of your body.

• Next, you need to pull your other arm out of the water and move it forward when your other arm is moving beneath you. Then, bend your elbow and drag your fingertips along the surface of the water. The penetration of your finger tips through the water by completely extending the arm will provide a force for you to move forward.

• You can breathe by turning your head to the side of the arm which is out of the water. In this way, you can breathe every time one of your hands is up and out of the water.

While following this freestyle movement, it is advisable to stretch each stroke without stopping the windmill motion. The more stretch there is in each stroke, the less fatigue you will feel. Besides, you must not forget to remain horizontal in the water. A forceful kick will prevent your legs from sinking.

These were some of the tips and instructions for swimmers who are learning freestyle movements. These tips will surely turn your swimming experience into a great and exciting experience.

How I Make Money From My Swimming Pool

Making money from home is not so hard as many people think. Yes, I should know because I have been generating substantial amount of income from home particularly from my pool. How do I do that? Let me share below.

It started when a close friend of mind was looking for a venue for their high school reunion - actually she was asking suggestions for concepts aside from venue. So without thinking for business I replied 'why not make it outdoor like pool party?" To cut the story short, that conversation led to income generation on my part - she suggested a pool party to her high school friends and classmates and because I have a swimming pool that could accommodate such event, they rented.

Upon seeing potential of my swimming pool for extra income I decided to take it as a serious business. I decided to make money out of it instead of just making it like an abandoned stuff. I accept rentals and swimming pool reservations - and I am still enjoying it.

Pool rental for parties even led to more money-making opportunities and I am sharing some of the following below:

Swimming lessons

I am not a professional swimmer but, somehow, I have substantial knowledge to make it for money. I accept swimming lessons that usually peak during summer. I teach basic swimming lessons both for adults and children. Yes, it's quite fun!

Outdoor pictorials

Some use my pool as a venue for pictorials - magazines, brochures, etc. I have a number of loyal clients who have been benefiting from their business using my pool. It is a 'symbiosis relationship' as they call it.

A venue for wedding

Because my swimming pool is also surrounded by colorful garden, many also use the area as a venue for weddings. I have two deals on wedding ( maximum) every month - and it quite a fortune for me.

Above are just few examples how I make money at home. If you want to make a fortune - start it at home. You won't realize how effective it is until you try it. Good luck.

Making Money at Home With Your Swimming Pool

Home-based business is becoming more and more popular today. This is because, many see a great potential in making money at home - from manufacturing to outsourcing to health-related business. Yes, you may think almost all are doing business at home and that there is no enough space for you to ride on this money-making bandwagon. But I tell you, there are still lots of business potential at home. Doubtful? Well, I am to share something I do at home that can also be a potential source of additional income for you.

If you have your own pool at home then you might care to consider doing some things to make money out of it - just like me. Yes, my own swimming pool brings additional income for me. How? Check the following if you can also do these things:

Swimming Lesson/Program

I am making money out of my swimming program most especially during summer. Summer is the peak season for this as there are a lot of kids (and adults too) out there who want to take up swimming lessons. Yes, I am not expert in swimming but I admit that I know some skills that professional swimmers have. Accepting swimming course at my home comfort is pretty nice source of income. Aside from making money, it is very fulfilling when I see kids happy while learning. So much more when you see their developments.

Venue for parties

Aside from accepting swimming lessons, I also make money by making it as a venue for parties. Lots of friends, business people are calling me for swimming pool rentals. In fact, I receive, at least, two pool rentals each month and that brings money for me! Swimming pool parties for birthdays, wedding receptions, reunions are some that pump-in additional income for me. Though my own pool is not that big, still it can accommodate occasions like I have mentioned. If you think you can do this then why not?

Venue for pictorials

I also earn a decent income by accepting rentals for pictorials. From brochure to calendar to catalog to magazines pictorials - these are some of pictorial rentals I receive. These things can also be a source of additional income for you. If somebody asks you to rent your pool and if it is available - why not? Instead of making it as a stagnant stuff, why not accept offers like these?

As for my final note, I could not have been successful in making money from my own pool If I do not care so much for it. That is why I do daily minor cleaning and major cleaning once every two weeks. Aside from removing debris out of my pool, I also see to it that all of my swimming pool accessories are well-managed. Also, I keep on working to maintain my garden around the pool as this really adds more color and beauty. I always do my part to become more responsible pool owner and I just let my pool brings money for me.
