Inspirational Business Leaders - Part 2

We see ourselves in the mirror each and every morning while we brush our teeth, maybe you look yourself in the eyes, maybe you don't bother, but this just happens to be an intense little private moment for me, so I'm using it as an example here. We have three children in the house, and my wife and I share a bathroom, so I don't get many of these throughout the day. This is my moment I use to challenge myself each morning. I take this opportunity to look myself directly in the eyes and make an internal pact with the soul inside that today I will be better than yesterday, and I will inspire one person in a positive way. This is the part where you might be wondering just what this has to do with being a business leader. When one stops and really thinks on what it means to build a business, you are building relationships! They are one in the same, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you can get down to the real work of building something special.

Business on every level must be carried out from a central point, a singularity (for all you cosmologists). That point is the company mission, the sole reason the company exists in the first place. Like most endeavors, these organizations begin with a unifying idea, a belief or core value that brings people together under a single banner. I mentioned this in another article once, but if you go onto the website for any major corporation, company, or organization there will be a link you can follow, probably labeled ABOUT US, or something like it. There you will find their core reason for existing, or mission statement. Not once will you find one that says, "To make money and get rich." Although there is much to be said about turning a profit and making some sort of living out of the business you started, if that is the driving force behind it then do not expect it to gain momentum and longevity. In fact, it probably won't last the year.

Without a Core Value you will not be sustainable and you cannot inspire others to your cause or mindset. People will not take you seriously and you will begin to take on a reputation of the slimy used car salesman and people will begin to avoid all things connected to you and your brand. Remember, people aren't stupid. They want to be surrounded by individuals who teach, share, give value, and inspire; sometimes this is as simple as being just plain honest. In a world in which integrity and character are just words in a book and not reality, inspiration has fast become the new drug, and everyone craves it.

Women As Travel Agents

I read an article once by Susan Spano of the LA Times about women as travel agents. She noted that (according to one study) 75% of all travel agents are women and pointed out what those of us on this side of the business (the home-based side) have known for a good long while: that the money can be very good.

Spano cited one home-based agent who grosses $3.5 million serving the Hollywood film community. Assuming an average 10% after the split (and if I were doing that kind of volume I'd insist on at least that!), that's $350,000 a year. Not too shabby.

She also mentioned a part-timer who took in $50,000 on a single booking by rounding up 270 friends and family members for a cruise. (Wow! What an email list!)

So far so good, but I was disappointed -- amazed is more like it -- when the article started listing reasons the profession is so top heavy with women. Here were some of the reasons cited by Spano's sources, who were all women and big names in the travel industry no less:

Travel agenting has traditionally been a low-paying profession. I guess they think women are dumb. Selling travel is considered "fun." I guess they think women are frivolous.

Becoming a travel agent is easy. I guess they think women aren't capable of hard work.

Married women have time on their hands. Yikes! Where have these people been

It made me angry. And I'm not even a woman!

Here, then, are what I consider some of the real reasons women are so prominent in the travel business and why so many of them are succeeding big time as home-based agents:

*** Women Are Great at Relationship Selling ***

When I was a sales training consultant, I had the privilege of working with some very fine sales teams around the country. I was constantly impressed by the way female reps would hang in there to make the sales relationship work and bring in that big sale, long after their male counterparts would give up, muttering about what a jerk the customer was. They did it through relationship selling, which has two parts: understanding what makes the customer tick and designing a sales presentation that matches the product's benefits with the customer's needs and wants.

Travel products, especially the upscale high-margin products you should be selling, are ideal for this kind of relationship-based sales approach. Remember, a plane seat may be a commodity but a great vacation is like a great relationship. It feeds the soul and enriches the person who takes it. Women, I truly believe, understand this on a gut level and that's what makes them such great sellers of the dream of travel.

*** Women Care About Their Customers ***

I'm not suggesting that men are callous, but us guys like to make the sale and move on. Women not only want to make the sale, but make the right sale. It goes along with what I was saying about matching the product to the customer. Customers respond to this, whether they are aware of it or not. And women are curious, truly curious, about whether the customer liked the trip. So they're better at follow-up and those of you who have studied what I have to say about that, know what that means!

*** Women Care About the Quality of Their Lives ***

Guys may be willing to commute three hours a day to go bang their head against the corporate ladder to get ahead in a company that will dump them ruthlessly at the first sign of an economic downturn. But women want more from life than that. They see becoming a home-based travel agent as a strategy that allows them to work in a comfortable, supportive environment (home), on their own terms, make good money, and still have time for the things that really matter in life.

*** Women Are Smart ***

Don't fool yourself. Women don't become home-based agents because it's easy to get started (which is true) or because they have time on their hands or because they're just too dumb to do anything else. They do it because they can do the math and they know that when you add up the money to be made AND the great perks (travel, free time, time with the kids, and on and on) that this is one of the best paid jobs out there.

My Idea of a Home Business

A Home Based Business is what can upgrade your life to a new magnificent level.

Not only because you will be able have more time with your family but also because this time will be of high quality. Who can forget a time when coming from work just look to avoid to play with your kids because you are too tired or what is more common, do not treat them they way you should or would like to, because your body can not hold the amount of stress and just led it go to your love ones.

We should consciously asked our self every morning: Am I on my way to happiness? If you can not answer this question as simple as it is, then you are not.

That is how I came across with this idea that might sound crazy to you: The first step to happiness is having a Home Based Business. Why? Everyone has a very different idea of life and what will complement that life to be as happy as you can be.

My idea of happiness is:

1. Be myself, every time, everywhere. Have that connection within me that majority us have lost somewhere, when the heart says what the soul believe is the correct word and the body obeys.

2. Be able to provide to my family and myself the best experiences in life.

3. Giving

4. Be wealthy spiritually and monetary

Looking for happiness is our main goal in life, ways to look for it changes and sometimes we even forget what happiness is because we loose the faith and the focus.

We are so busy that we can not stop to think why I am here? Why should I be working for someone else when I can work for myself and at the same time have quality time with my family and friends? Why should I be stress for someone else money when I can control more the stress that will be coming from my own business and work?.

I have found a way to create my way to happiness and this way can be utilized by you too, because it connects you to what you really want from life and on the way to it also creates wealth spiritually and monetary. But as everything in life you will need to be focus, learn how not to loose that focus and be serious about your goals:

Billionaire W. Clement Stone and the Serious Errors in MLM Thinking

Jack Canfield, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, does a training called the Success Principles. In one of the audios he talks about his relationship with his mentor, future head of a billion dollar company and philanthropist, W. Clement Stone.

He reflects on a question Mr. Stone asks him about accountability. Paraphrased, Jack is asked "Do you take responsibility for all your results?" He pauses then says, "um, I think so."

Take Accountability

From that point forward it was drilled down that Jack must take responsibility and be accountable for everything in his life. Obviously he didn't have control over outside forces but he had control of his attitude and his reaction to events that did happen.

This was a principle W. Clement Stone fiercely believed in and it's no different for any of us. You are where you are because of the choices you've made. Your bank account is what it is because of decisions you've made. The car you drive, the place where you live is because of your thoughts and actions. You are accountable for your life, no one else.

That's a tough pill to swallow for some people. Some will blame their boss, their husband or wife, the weather, their teacher, the accountant etc. for their predicament in life. They refuse to put that onus on themselves because it's easier to blame someone else.

The Blame Game

If they start a home based business for example and it doesn't make them a pile of money right away they give up, call it a scam and blame that company or the person who signed them up. We live in this "Right Now" world and are bombarded by the media hearing about people who became overnight successes. Give me a break! That overnight success only came after a long road of little steps. They had the persistence, the perseverance and the chutzpah to keep going and they took accountability for it.

Change Your Mindset

But we all have to start somewhere. And one secret when it comes down to accountability is looking at yourself first and changing your mindset. In order to change your results on the outside you must first work on yourself from the inside.

W. Clement Stone was a proponent of having that positive mindset. 50 years ago he co-authored a book with Napoleon Hill called Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude which is still in wide circulation today.

What many people don't know is he built his billion dollar empire, an insurance company called The Combined Insurance Company of America, using a network marketing business model. He was a poster boy of rags-to-riches but do you know how long it took him to build his business to 'overnight success' status? 11 years.

It's Within Your Reach

So if you have just started a network marketing business or are thinking about it, take heart. You will not get rich overnight. It will take some work but it is very much within your reach. If you work full time as we all do in some way or another just take little steps, be consistent, persistent and most of all, be accountable for your actions. Home Business Tips - Chicken Soup For Your Home Business

I'm sure you've heard of chicken soup for the soul. Well, this article is about chicken soup for your home business. No, you're not actually going to drink chicken soup, though that wouldn't be a bad idea if you're hungry. After you're done reading this article, you're going to start repairing that sick business of yours. Keep reading to find out how.

First of all, how do I know that your business is sick? Because 97% of the people who run their own home business are either in the red or flat out just gave up. But why is the failure rate so high? Could it be that they're not getting enough chicken soup? Well, actually, that's exactly what it is. Let me explain.

In order for a business to thrive, it must be fed. No, it's not a human being but it is a living thing. Try running your car without gas. See how far you get. Same thing with a business. It needs it own kind of fuel in order to run. But what is that fuel?

For starters, it needs cash. I don't care what people say about running a business for free. You're looking for serious trouble if you think you can grow anything substantial without investing some money. I'm not saying you have to invest a lot. My monthly expenses are under $200...and that's running a 6 figure empire. Trust me, the essentials don't cost a lot.

In addition to money, you need to invest time. I understand that some people running their own home business have regular jobs. But if you want things to get done, they're not going to get done on their own. You, or somebody else, have to put time into it. It can be as little as an hour or two a night. It doesn't matter. Just as long as you are consistent with your effort. Eventually, those hours will add up.

Finally, you need fuel for the business. I'm talking about an actual product that people REALLY want and need. You can only pawn off vaporware for so long before it catches up to you. A true home business, one that is rock solid, offers customers a product that fulfills a real need or satisfies a burning problem that the person is having. Put something like that in front of a person and trust me...you won't have to sell them hard.

These may sound like basic ingredients, but you'll be surprised how many people don't have them in their home business. So invest some money, take the time to help your business grow, and give customers something that they actually need, and you'll soon discover that you have a home business that doesn't need to be spoon fed its medicine any longer.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Network Marketing From Home - How to Make Five Figures From Home With an Online Business Opportunity

CREATING LEADER

Networking marketing is not easy because it involves dealing with people. Any time you are dealing with people, you are going to have challenges. The soul of network marketing is in the relationships between the people that comprise the essence of the business.

Though you may attract a prospect on the internet, you will still need to build relationship in person or on the telephone. Those who will make a lot of money in network marketing today and in the future are the people who are willing to build community and leadership within their organizations. That is not an easy job. However, how easy is it to go work every day for 30 to 40 years or more? Our microwave society and get-rich-quick mentality seeks the path of least resistance. In life and in the business world, easy is usually inconsistent with long-term success.

You are going to have to pay a price for success anywhere you go. it is the law of nature, If you don't pay the price for success and build leadership, then there is no way an organization will last over the course of decades or longer.

The people who come in and promote network marketing as an easy get-rich-quick-without-paying-the-price business give the realize that network marketing is a vocation that requires the mastering of a necessary skill set and one that follows an effective, duplicable system (see the 7-Step System to building a $1,000,000 network marketing dynasty by Joe Rubino for one such system), to earn the really big incomes that most desire. Your determination dictates your mission an the things you must do to accomplish the mission.

Building leader is not an easy, quick thing, but it is the most rewarding task we can take on to build our dynasties. It requires being effective in dealing with people. It doesn't happen overnight, but it is a process that requires stretching people to expand outside their comfort zones as they boldly risk and do the things that leaders do. Developing leaders requires that you invest your time and effort in these people over time. Leadership demands that you must be willing to involve yourself in this process of championing others to be their best.

While building leader requires that you invest your time and effort in these people over time. leadership demands that you must be willing to involve yourself in this process of championing others to be their best. While building leaders and working with people is not always easy, it can be tremendously rewarding. There willing to be few moments in life that will give you a higher high than seeing someone you've invested in win their victory and gain financial freedom themselves.

If you are looking to build a huge organization and claim the personal and financial freedom in, be prepared to put yourself in a personal and financial freedom that is there for you through the vehicle of network marketing, be prepared to put yourself in a personal-development program that supports you to expand who you are so that you will better be able to support others to step into leadership and do the same, following your example.

Make Money at Home Through Freelance Writing

One surefire way to make money at home is to become a freelance writer. Anyone can be a writer, but if you do it particularly well, this may be just the kind of work that you can definitely use to supplement your own income. If you are new to this, you needn't fret because this make money at home venture is quite popular and pays relatively well once you gain more experience in it. Here are some words of advice that can help you enhance your freelance writing to better fit your client's needs.

Who Are You Writing For?

Find out from your client who the audience is for your article. This way you will be better able to structure it in the language and format that is best understandable to your target visitors. If you are supposed to write an article that promotes a health supplement, for instance, it may be best to write the article by putting special emphasis on the benefits of the product on the user rather than its characteristics.

Give Them Suspense

When you write an article that promotes a product, you want the reader to come back to your blog to find out more about it and to continue reading your work. Don't give out too much information all in one article. Sprinkle relevant pieces of information in a series of articles that will keep the reader coming back and finding out something new and exciting about the product.

Be Sincere

If you really want to promote a product well through your writing, use the product and experience the benefits for yourself. By doing this, you can write a better article that will honestly tell the reader about the product, and if they have questions you can also easily give them the answers that they need if they contact you online.

Brevity Is The Soul Of Wit

Make sure that your article is not too long. Writing long-winded articles will only bore the reader. Keep the number of words to roughly about 500 and be sure to stop beating around the bush and go to the point straight away. This will keep readers interested and looking for more of your written work.

Learn SEO Techniques

On the internet, it is all about search engine optimization so you have to learn about all the new techniques that will make your article show up in search engine results. Will Your Home Business Boom Or Bust?

Are you one of the many people who are working from home? Perhaps you operate a home based business or work for a company who is saving on office space. Either way, you have some new challenges. Here are the top seven challenges to having a successful home based business.

1. Doing everything your way. Most home based business owners get very excited about being their own boss. Truthfully, it IS exciting to set your own hours knowing that no one is looking over your shoulder. Yet there are two sides to this story. You are also your own employee! Be honest! Are there some tasks for which you would never hire yourself?

2. Dealing with delays and interruptions. When you're working at home it is a challenge to separate your private life from your workday. Children, pets, neighbors, mail men, and gardeners are part of your office landscape. There is no hard and fast rule to guide your attention. You will get interrupted. Your priorities will determine your outcome.

3. Staying focused. Even if there are no delays and interruptions, most people find it a challenge to stay focused. You may find that your mind strays, or your online research becomes an episode of "Lost In Web Space"!! One of the best things you can do is anticipate this challenge. Learn to forgive yourself and come back to productive work.

4. Motivation. It is no secret that your motivation will fluctuate from day to day. When your motivation is high you're likely to achieve more. Be aware that if your motivation slips for more than a few days it can become a destructive habit. To be successful you MUST have a support system. It can be devastating to watch your business fail, knowing that you are the cause.

5. Communicating effectively. This topic could be a series of articles. There are so many ways to communicate using the phone, email, print, social media, networking, advertising, speaking and many more. There are times you can communicate by telephone and many other times that you must meet in person up. Once you decide what is most effective for you, commit to becoming a master. Take a class, read a book or look for someone to mentor you. It is worth it!

6. Listening effectively. To be successful you need to identify and solve your customer's problem. More importantly, your prospect has to BELIEVE that you understand them and are proposing the right solution. Ask lots of questions and listen to your prospect's answers. If you find yourself twisting your product or service to fit every possible solution you may want to ask yourself, "Was I really listening?"

7. Doing everything yourself to keep expenses down. You may be working from home in order to save on expenses. We are fortunate to live in a time when we can be in business with a computer, phone, printer and internet connection! When there is very little money coming in, it is tempting to economize by learning new skills. You might put up your own website, design your business cards, start a newsletter or create a mail campaign. Before long you find yourself losing days or weeks in front of tutorials without any additional revenue. You are caught in the trap! Set aside funds to hire professionals. Spend your time on revenue producing activity. That is the fastest way to create success in your business.

Your home based business can be an adventure that brings out the very best in you. It will be a learning experience every single day. You will be called upon to be the very best you can be! Decide every day to enjoy the process, to learn from every choice and to create a support system of friends, mentors and professionals who have a stake in your success. Lastly, smile and enjoy the ride!
