There have been several times when I questioned myself and asked 'Is this really worth it, am I ever going to get anywhere with this?' One of the obvious answers is if you just throw your hands up in the air and say 'That's it, I've had enough'; of course you're going to fail, perhaps without ever having put in a valiant effort. I've been at it a few months now, yes only a few months and I am beginning to see a better trend. We must understand that for 99.9% of us this is not going to happen in a matter of a couple of weeks; contrary to what some of these advertisements may tell you.

We must stay realistic as to what our ultimate goals are; as for myself I only want to make enough so I can be done with my day job. I don't aspire to become a millionaire, I do aim to remove myself from working for someone else and being able to support myself comfortably with a home based business. So, forget the hype that you are spoon fed and get into the trenches with the rest of us and start your research; be courageous.

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket, set out a few bread crumbs here and there, experiment with different techniques and methods of advertising. I'm an affiliate of several different outfits, I have a few websites of my own, I have also joined an MLM and pay a small monthly fee to retain my status. I buy into a Co-op that generates people for my down-line; yes there is a cost but I look at the big picture; with a bit of time and effort I may get some movers and shakers who join up beneath me.

Nothing is guaranteed but if we do not try we will never reach our ultimate goal. If you despise the job you presently go to, don't think 'Well maybe I'll just find a better job and I will be happier there?', maybe you will be and maybe you won't, as a matter of fact it could turn out that your new job is worse than your present one. Newness wears off and the grind sets in again. When we are unhappy about our situation in life it is up to us to fix it; get out of the cycle that we are stuck in and work towards what we truly want.

As the title states it is All About Attitude, if we think we are going to fail before we even start are we really all that motivated to get anywhere? Motivate yourself, envision what you hope to achieve for your family and be realistic in what you visualize. Work at it, make the time, we all have our own ideas and it could be that one of your ideas is a good moneymaker.

If you feel yourself starting to get a negative attitude tell yourself to stop and re-think the reasons why you started; it's worth the effort and nothing great ever comes easy. Keep your goals in sight and don't let go, if one method fails there are many more that you can and will try... keep on trying until you find something, just one thing that works for you.

I can't say that all I am doing is free but at present I have that bit of capital that I can invest without any distress experienced. I admit I do live frugally, not because I am poor, just because I do not wish to waste my money. If you are going to spend your money on marketing methods or the like please make sure you do your research, find reviews of the product or information; find a few reviews and see if they conflict with one another.

If you want to be a part of a larger group and feel you need some direct tutoring there are many of these groups available; I would suggest finding a forum where people discuss their experiences and read up on what they have to say. There is a lot of information available to us, we simply have to seek it out.

Have faith in yourself, keep your attitude in check, keep a screw driver handy in case the old attitude needs adjusting from time to time; stick with it, expand your mind and then expand your bank account.

Starting an E-scrap Business From Scratch

First off you will need to have a place to work. I started my company in a storage shed that was sitting idle behind my house. While it was not huge, it had power and enough room for the electronic items to be stored and dismantled.

This is not something that you would want to do inside your home unless you have a basement. It can be dirty work and it will take up a lot of space at the same time.
Now let's talk about the tools that you will need to get started.

The first thing is plenty of screwdrivers in various sizes. Nearly every computer and other electronic items have different kinds of screws that you will have to remove. I visited my local Wal-Mart and found an 18 piece screwdriver set on sale for $5.00. It works very well. I should have picked up several of them but I then went to my local Harbor Freight store and found another similar set for $5.00. It is good to have several on hand.

A power screwdriver is also a great tool to have around. While you will not be able to take out all of the screws with a power driver, you will be able to take out some of the easier to reach ones and it really speeds up the process.

Good wire cutters are essential. One of my biggest mistakes was going cheap on the wire cutters when we first started and in the end we paid for it. The cheap wire cutters dull quickly and trying to cut through wires with dull cutters is hard on the hands.

A full set of star bit drivers is also essential. This is most often used in disassembling the hard drives that are held together with various sizes of star bits. A decent set will likely run you around $10 and it will be a big time saver.

Finally a set of small pry bars will come in very handy. These are used mostly for printers that are usually a pain to disassemble. Having a pry bar around gives the needed power to pull apart the different printers without wasting a lot of time.

Now that you have the place and the tools you will need to get some electronics to tear down. There are several different ways to approach this so we will review them below. One of the most powerful tools that I have found is a simple form letter that is sent to various companies in my area. I sat down with my wife and created this letter outlining what our company does and how it would benefit the companies that we were contacting. The response is simply amazing.

One piece of advice is to make your service FREE. All you have to do is run down what you do, which is e-cycling and tell them that you will pick up all the items that they have for free. There are some large companies that provide this kind of service but they are charging for the service and making it free is far more attractive.

Business cards are also a great way to get things going. I usually add a business card to the letters that I send out and the companies will then pass the information along to other companies that may need the service.

Cold calling is a great way to drum up some business as well. My wife regularly sits down in her office with a list of companies and just calls and introduces herself to them and tells them about what we do. The response is amazing.

As for the companies you should target it is fairly simple. We started out with computer repair businesses in our area. In our state it is illegal to throw electronics away so the computer repair companies were having to store and in many cases pay to get rid of their junk. Most were more than thrilled to have someone that would come and pick the stuff up. You can also target factories, hospitals, schools and all manner of businesses that use computers and may have some that need to be disposed of. #1 PROSPECTING - This is the cornerstone of your business. Constantly ask yourself this question "how often does someone ask you about your business opportunity or products". #2 PRESENTING - Once you have a prospect that is excited you can either give the presentation yourself or get them something to watch or listen too. The key to presenting is listening. If they show excitement about one of your products then focus your attention on that. If you gave them a video or phone call to listen too, this is very important. Teach them the minimum skill level needed to complete the task. Teach them this system and stick to a system and they will learn to teach it to their new signups. Network marketing is about using the power of leverage. If they know how to do something they will be more likely to actually do it. You will be able to grow a huge and profitable organization if you teach this simple system. But wait your not finished.

#5 PROSPECTING - Your probably thinking you already talked about this one. Well like I said before prospecting is the cornerstone of your business and if people stop asking you about your opportunity and products then your business is stagnate and no longer growing. Never stop prospecting and balance your time between training and prospecting. The great part when you first start you don't have to balance anything all you need to focus on is prospecting. When you start signing up business partners you will need to balance your time wisely.
