How To Stay Focused As You Work From Home!

What about that clock, you know, the one in the middle of the floor close to the ceiling with the big black numbers staring you in the face, telling you how long you had already been there and how much longer you had to go? What about those rules and regulations you had to deal with, that made your stomach ache? You can't do this, and you can't do that, not to mention special parking for so called special personnel? Well guess what? You now become all of those things when you decide to become self employed. I know working for yourself comes with a great deal of freedom you can't fully explain. why, because you get to pick your own hours, you get to be your own boss, a tough one or someone that's laid back, it's solely up to you. You get to take on all the responsibilities of being in control of how you bring home the bacon. What I will tell you is this, you MUST enforce, stick to, and abide by the schedule that you set for yourself. You MUST hold yourself and others around you accountable to your schedule and your work performance. I kid you not, for some reason when family and/or friends hear that you are working from the house they tend to believe that you're doing absolutely nothing; or they think all you do is talk on the phone all day or watch television. In their minds you are "unemployed" so this is why you MUST hold yourself and others accountable.

Lets say you have a great deal of secretarial skills and you decide to become a virtual assistant, well then you must understand that your employer will expect certain things from you, like finishing the task given to you on time, being on important office meeting calls, and checking in with the virtual manager who is assigned to you for your weekly assignments. So what am I saying is "you must have the mind set, discipline and skills needed" to be your own boss. Some people think that even with the skills and discipline they can succeed as a home base business owner, however there is what's known as the waiting period. The waiting period happens when you've done all the leg work getting your business up and running, collecting expenses along the way and still making no money. This is when you know that you absolutely have what it takes to be a business owner because it may take days, weeks, months, even years to rep some reward from all your efforts. So again do you have what it takes to stay focused while working your business from the house?

Learn Copywriting As A Work From Home Idea

Mums working from home (also known as 'mumpreneurs') have found that copywriting can be a great opportunity to build a business. Copywriting is great for those with a background in fields such as journalism, public relations and marketing - or even those who have a way with written words. Writing copy is all about communicating ideas by creating images and emotions through stories, so if you are a great communicator and can express ideas well, then this is an opportunity that you may want to pursue.

About Copywriting

Copywriting is a very broad term, originally referring to the person who came up with concepts and slogans or tag lines for advertisement. The rapid growth of the internet has seen the need for written content grow exponentially. These days, copywriters are in demand for not only traditional advertising roles, but for a wide range of roles providing well crafted writing for online communication of ideas.

You don't need a graduate degree to be an effective copywriter, but you will need to study the craft as copywriting has particular idiosyncrasies that differentiate it from other forms of writing. One way to learn the art of copywriting is to choose a mentor who is already successful in this field and train under them and to also join mailing lists of famous copywriters.

Opportunities for copywriters

The following areas are just some of the jobs that work from home copywriters are able to be involved with:

Web site copy - Every website out there requires copy. The written component of a business website is an introduction point for online visitors and poor copy will prospective buyers off. Copy for a website is therefore extremely important and for this reason many businesses use a professional to write the copy for them.

Reports, ebooks and white papers - Writing reports and ebooks to share information about a particular topic or area of expertise can help a business to communicate what it does with prospective customers. White papers are similar to reports, usually focussing on technical aspects of an idea or subject. A professional with expertise in a given area may find it possible to build a home business writing these types of technical or in-depth documents to support other businesses.

Writing copy for brochures, leaflets and newsletters - This type of copywriting harks back to more traditional copywriting, and this opportunity can be pursued both on and offline. If a business needs a leaflet for a trade show, then they may find it easiest to outsource this to a professional. Likewise, they may find that it is easier to hand over the writing side of creating a newsletter that they send out to keep their customers up to date on what is happening in their business, any promotions and so on.

Many other opportunities also exist for work from home mums who want to use their way with words to develop their own business meeting business needs for well written copy. Copywriting is one of the most popular work from home ideas and those who develop their own business following this path find the work diverse and rewarding.

Working From Home? How To Balance Your Chores With Your Work at Home Job

What a lot of people don't realize about the work at home job is that the things that need to be done around the house still exist. In fact, it seems when you work at home, these chores can be quite distracting and become something that some people seem to focus on more than when they worked away from home. There is this false feeling you get that because you are home you should be able to pay closer attention to the details of your home than you did when you were working elsewhere. What makes it even worse that generally your family and friends think the same way. However; this should not be the case. Just because you are working at home does not mean you have more time now in your schedule to do things around the house. In reality the amount of time shouldn't change at all. Here are a few pointers how you can better balance your chores with your work from home job.

Try making up a log that you can keep track of what you are doing around the house. You should record on this log the exact time at which you sit down at your work space to start working. You should also include the times you stop your work and start doing things that have nothing to do with your job. This is a good way to figure out when you are actually working and when you are doing other activities around the house.

From this log you should then sit down and make yourself a schedule. Write down this schedule and do your best to follow it on a daily basis. You need to teach yourself that you need to eat at a particular time of day, take a "me" breaks several times a day and these should be on the schedule. Make sure that you include certain chores as well and make sure they are on a set schedule as well. Make sure that you schedule your various phone calls at certain times of the day and only allow yourself to accept calls during certain times of the day, unless of course you have a phone line that is dedicated to your home job. You should also make yourself include deadlines for both your work tasks as well as your chores.

Make sure that your family is more involved around the house. Being at home all day long does not give them the right to run all over you and treat you as if you are not working and you are at their beck and call whenever they need you for something. In fact they should be asked to help out more with the chores and you should make sure that you delegate some of these chores to other members of your family. Now is the time they learn that you are not the only person in the house that is responsible for during chores to keep things running smoothly.

If it gets to a point where you feel things are out of hand and you can afford it, you might want to consider getting yourself a professional housekeeper to come in once a week or come by every other week or so to do so really heavy duty cleaning of your house. This will cut down on you having to worry about everything on top of trying to be successful at your work at home job.

Work At Home As A Quiz Master

Many local pubs struggle mid week to pull in plenty of customers. Visit them during the evening between Sunday and Thursday and you are likely to find that although it is supposed to be peak time, they are not as full as they would like to be. That is why many resort to promotions such as pub quizzes to pull in more punters.

It can be a lot of work for the landlord
However, running a quiz is a lot of work for an already busy landlord. Researching sufficient questions each week, putting together the question sheet and some posters and so on can be too much like hard work and that is where you can come in to help them out.

First, visit a few local pubs on their mid week evenings, checking that they do not already run pub quizzes and see when they are quiet. Then just have a word with the landlord and ask if he or she has considered running a pub quiz. When they say that they have but the effort of finding the questions and promoting it is too much, that us where you can come in.

You can help support their needs
Offer for a small amount to do the leg work for them. Tell the landlord clearly what you are offering to give them and what it is you would want in return. If you are the outgoing type then you might also want to offer your services, for an additional fee, as quiz master, but for most people that is unnecessary and the pub would rather save their money and run that bit themselves.

Then all that you need to do is to research the questions, put together a few themed question sheets and hand them over each week. This is actually a lot easier to do than it sounds! For example, if you want a 40 question quiz, you can easily buy a sports quiz book that provides tons of sports questions and pick 10 questions from that for your quiz. Do the same for music and entertainment, or whatever best suits your customer. Add to that 10 questions about current affairs by reading the newspapers in the week and you have everything you need.

Promote yourself further
To make sure the evening is well noticed you can simply design a few basic posters advertising the quiz, print them out and hand them over. And by the time you have done this for a handful of local pubs you are well on your way to a good little home business. But to push it further, print out some answer sheets (a piece of paper with "Team Name" on the top and numbers down the side!) and add a link to your own website, which tells people about the service you are offering. This way players stand a chance of seeing what you are doing and telling other landlords in the area, who might also catch on!

Five Ways to Stay Motivated Working From Home

Starting your own home-based business, or telecommuting for another company, can be a great way to make a living. You set your own hours. You save money on commuting expenses. You can even work in your pajamas, and no one can say a thing about it. But over time, you may get tired of completing the same types of projects over and over again. Here are five tips to help you stay motivated when working from home.

Socialize

One way to stay motivated is to associate with freelance workers. Who says working at your home office is a solitary sport? You may be working for yourself, but that doesn't mean you must work alone. Find ways to add social interaction to your work: Join a networking group or connect with industry colleagues through trade associations. Talking to freelancers--regardless of their industry--can give a motivational boost to the work you do.

Learn

Another way to stay motivated is to learn constantly. Keeping up with current events in your industry is a crucial part of any successful career. Learn something new! What technologies will make your job easier? What are the best ways to make more money doing what you do? How does your work influence your community? Learning new things about your work will help inspire you to do more of it.

Laugh

Next, use your break times to do something that makes you laugh. Watch an episode of your favorite sitcom. Don't just check on the kids--invest some "silly time" by playing with them. Read a comic strip. Whatever tickles your fancy, mix a little foolishness in your downtime activities. The positive attitude you get from laughing will keep you motivated throughout the day--and it will show in your work.

Stop

As counterintuitive as it sounds, maintaining your desire to work at your home office may mean taking a mental hiatus. Stop. Regroup. Reflect. Ask yourself, "Why am I doing this?" Sometimes, it's alright to just stop and think things over for a while until you remember why you're doing what you do. Once you rediscover the value of how you do your work, use that energy to get back in the saddle.

Focus

Finally, a great way to stay motivated when working from home is to get serious about having fun in the game of work! Having fun keeps the work you do creative. Set fun goals for yourself, like seeing if you can finish a project sooner than you originally planned. Reward yourself in small ways, like giving yourself the rest of the day off after completing a tough job. Adding significance to your little victories motivates you to look forward to the next challenge.

After a while, doing a lot of the same kind of work can burn you out when you least expect it. That's when you need a different way of looking at what it means to work from home. Give these five tips a try--you may find levels of motivation you never knew you had.

The following points deserve emphasis:

1. Working at home. Apparently the idea may be very attractive. But don't overlook your domestic situation. Are you surrounded by distractions at home? The list includes, among other things, busy children and TV programmes. An environment full of distractions will likely prevent you from staying concentrated on your job.

2. You are the boss. Now you work for yourself and no one tells you what to do. It really sounds nice but don't forget you are responsible for creating and keeping a stimulating working environment everyday. You must take on the challenge of staying motivated day in and day out. Moreover, being a competent boss means being good at decision-making. Are you willing to be your own boss?Think carefully about your professional profile. Perhaps you were definitely born to work for someone else.

3. It's often a small business. As a home- based business owner, you are more vulnerable to economic uncertainties and more exposed to unreliable customers than the big companies. Of course these customers point to trouble ahead.

4. Risk-Taking. You might not enjoy the line of work which you have decided to try, and nobody can say for sure you are on the path to success. You can't ignore the possibility of failure. Considerable number of home-based businesses go bankrupt as soon as they start going through hard times.

5. Health insurance may be impractical. Your health is your best asset. Finding good health insurance may be unaffordable when you work for yourself. And there's no question health insurance really matters as its coverage helps you get medical care as well as timely medical support. It's worth noting that one of the most commonly mentioned reasons for bankruptcies is medical related.

Take a close look at the principles of home-based business. Collect useful pieces of information about the sort of business you intend to set up. Then it's time to take action and do your best. 1. Social Marketing:

The very things we spend our leisure time doing online can provide a lucrative income. Marketing products to our "online friends" on these social platforms can prove profitable. Real Work at Home Jobs - What to Look Out For

More and more people are working from home, many of these home jobs are on the internet. With the ever improving speed and sophistication of home internet connections, there are more and more office workers working without leaving their house, and still completing the same work as they did when they physically traveled to an office building each day. This telecommuting is improving the quality of life of these employees, as well as helping the environment by taking all the cars off the road, and reducing the need for other methods of transport.

If your current job is not suitable for home completion, or if you just fancy a change, there are ever increasing and more diverse opportunities available to you on the world wide web. Not all are created equal however, and there are some "jobs" out there that are simply scams. So if you are looking for real work at home job what should you look out for.

Deciding on your path:

Everyone has a marketable skill, and whatever that is you can bet there is someone out there that is willing to pay you to do it. Make a list of your skills, are you a great writer, can you draw, are you a great salesman, do you have an eye for a bargain. All of these could get you money online, so before you start your search get some idea of what you are looking for.

Avoiding the scams:

Unfortunately it is a fact of life that some people set out to take a quick profit by exploiting the genuine online job seeker. Do not be tempted by people offering quick and easy riches for little effort, it just doesn't exist. Remember if it looks too good to be true it probably is. If you are looking for work at home you are going to have to work. You will need to put in the effort to reap the rewards.

Also be wary of jobs that require you to pay a fee before you can start. No genuine job should require you to pay money, they should be making money from the efforts you put in to the work provided. Even when you do find an opportunity you like the look of, do your research before starting. If there are any problems with payment or other things, you can bet a search on the internet will show these to you.

Get organized:

Remember you are starting a job at home so make sure you have a plan. Make a daily to-do list and stick to it. Know what you want to achieve each day, without a plan you will just be spinning your wheels and risk wandering aimlessly without getting anywhere.

You will also need a set space to do your work. Even if it is just a corner of the kitchen table. Once you are there you should be in work mode. It will help you to avoid distractions, plus make sure your family knows that once you are in work mode they should not disturb you. Treat our online work seriously and follow the above points, and you should see success.

Help with choosing your path:

Information and training are essential to help you find and succeed with a real work at home job. You can find more information for the
