Bing SEO Techniques

Bing is one of the up and coming search engines in the online community today. I'm sure that you have seen the commercials that have telling you that they are the decision engine not the "search" engine. Pretty good when you think about it. Bing is trying to crawl up the ladder slowly but surely. There are many great reviews about bing from users around the world. Many say that Bing is easier to navigate, more interactive, better customer support, and is more faster and responsive than Google itself. You can search more information on Alexa.com. What does this mean for SEO? This means that Bing has plenty of knowledgeable people looking for specific types of information online and are starting to use Bing for answers before Google.

I'm not saying that Google is being threatened by them nor am I necessarily saying that Bing is better than Google. What I am saying is that you should pay closer attention what is going on in the internet as oppose to listening to particular figures that narrow your mind only into a specific strategy or search engine, telling you that this is the only way you can get to people online which is preposterous.

There are three unique strategies that you can use to optimize on Bing.com. You are gong to have to do something a little different from what you have been told. First of all you first need to do a regular search on Google. Once you perform your keyword search on Google(using quotations on the keywords you are looking to use) you will want to take those same keywords or key phrases and place them in the bing search bar as well. You will want to analyze both results and see which one is the best ranked.

You should know that Bing doesn't favor domain keywords(i.e. xyz.com,.net,.info, etc.). Bing.com's own domain don't even rank that high their own search engine but they are in the top ten in Google. However, Bing does like EzineArticles.com and forums.

You will also want to use XHTML as oppose to HTML as Bing optimizes better for XHTML. You will want to be sure that you have the appropriate validation for your XHTML to suit the W3c standards. Bing is also big on meta tags. Google doesn't give much detail about the amount of characters for optimizing meta tags but Bing states that you should have original tags for each page that you want to establish and should be 25 to 150 characters, 874 characters in your keywords, and the most important keywords in your title and description. Keywords shouldn't repeat more than 4 times or it will look like you are spamming.

This is basic information on specific techniques you will need to utilize in order to rank relatively high in the Bing search engines. Marriage is the most special day in everyone's life. Planning a wedding, and arranging the wedding, can be one of the most daunting tasks. Many couples wish to have their wedding solemnized in a location away from home which is tougher. Thus, being new to the place, it is difficult to make the entire arrangement from clips to pins be available and go smooth.

Those who have been through this harrowing experience must have often though, "wish there was someone who could guide us".

You could be that 'someone', if you thing you can do a little research and be helpful to others. This is one great moneymaking idea. You do not have to actually run around and manage a wedding arrangement, but just give your valuable guidance and share information.

You can create your own website that has all the information to guide the arrangement for any wedding. Internet is the first and the most intensely searched place for every information. The best place to marry, the most beautiful location, list of venues, the accommodations available in "xyz" place, how to get there, the other attractions in the neighborhood, the cheapest photographer, the list of photo shops, where one could hire cars, the florist in the region, the designer wears and place to shop for the wedding clothes etc, the list could go on and on. People need to arrange a whole lot of things before the wedding. You can collect all the source of information, and provide information on your website about the services available in the area.

It is important to list each of the lists like from options of venue, to florist and other accessories in detail. If you can furnish further details about approximate cost for each it would be more beneficial. Making the website valuable with all the information needed in the most attractive way and attaching the needed links is also important. If you wish to provide more help, you can also display your contact number. It is always more credential, if you can provide information about yourself.

Let people know for how long you have been in business, your success stories, the people who have sought service from you etc. There are many people who would like to put themselves up on the website. The couple who have sought your help can always write a few lines on your service and the satisfaction they yielded. They can also put up their picture, and all this for a minimal cost.

If you have a good traffic inflow to your site, you can add on your revenue further by allowing advertisements, and giving space for them. For beginners you can start with your local place information. Since this is your place, you can collect more information and details. Further on, you can do a little more research and add more lists of places, and follow the same chart of information in details. Thus your website will provide wide information on a wide list of places too. Online money making is not a tough task. All you need to do is understand what the world looks out for, and what is most searched for. You can provide similar service for every requirement.

How To Properly Enter Online Mom Blog Giveaways

Do you enter online giveaways? If so, are you doing it properly? When you enter online giveaways that are hosted on various mommy blogs, you can increase your odds of winning the prize if you follow directions and enter the giveaway properly.

Here are a few tips that I would like to share with you.

1. Always read the rules and guidelines for the giveaway. Just because you read them for xyz giveaway, doesn't mean that same rules and guidelines apply to abc giveaway.

2. Always complete the mandatory entry first. This entry usually requests that you visit the sponsor's web site and take a look around. If you don't complete the mandatory entry, none of your bonus entries will count and you will be disqualified from winning.

3. Bonus entries are a way to earn additional entries into a giveaway. They are to be completed after fulfilling the mandatory entry obligations. Bonus entries can include things such as following the host blog, joining a Facebook fan page, sending a Tweet about the giveaway on Twitter, or by writing up your own blog post about the giveaway.

4. You want to make sure the blog owner has a way to contact you via email should you be selected as the winner. You should always include your email address with all of your giveaway entries and make sure it's correct with no typos.

The most important thing when it comes to entering online mom blog hosted giveaways is to always read the rules and guidelines, the terms of service and disclosure policies. Once you have done that, move on to the mandatory and bonus entries for that particular giveaway.

Good luck and have some fun entering all of the giveaways!

Shelly Hill is the co-owner of the Two Classy Chics Product Review and Giveaway Blog with her partner Chris Carroll. How To Increase Earnings For Under 30$ By Offering Better Customer Support On Your Website

One of the best ways to increase your online earnings is simpler that you think. As an online business, one of the most important things you can do to increase your clientele and long term customer base is to offer outstanding customer support. Nowadays, it is very common for most online support to happen online, rather than over the telephone. This is generally done via email. Most online companies receive a huge number of emails in their inbox each day, which can be overwhelming and easy to get lost in.

Online support does not have to be a headache and quite frankly can actually be quite fun with the right customer support software to stay organized.

Benefits of Customer Support Software

* Questions can be arranged and categorized so you know which are new, in-progress, and finished.

* You can personalize an automatic email that lets your customers know when they can expect a response from you.

* You can create helpful FAQ pages from your support questions, saving you time in the long run.
* Customers can input testimonials that can be added to your website.

* You can stop digging through your inbox to remind yourself what the history of correspondence was for a particular email.

* Correspondence with a particular customer can be grouped into a single page for easy reference.

* You can save time and frustration by helping to guide your clients inquiries. You can predefine subjects and departments for your clients to choose from when they contact you.

* You can assign multiple administrator support so specific departments and subjects can be assigned to a specific administrator.

You should easily be able to find customer support software for under 30$ that will provide all the features you are looking for.

How to Choose a Domain Name for Your Business

A domain name is your business identity on the web; it is how people find you. Just like your home has an address, a website needs an address so you can be found by your potential customers. Before choosing a name, remember to keep in mind your target niche, your product or service offering, and your business model. Remember to pick a name that will reflect positively on your brand. Made up and funky words may work for cutting edge brands with lots of money to promote them, but in most cases, it is better to pick a domain name that reflects your industry or services you provide. From a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) perspective, you want to include your target key word in your domain name when possible. If you are a Photographer in Hilton Head Island, SC who niche is weddings, HiltonHeadWeddingPhotography is a much better name from a SEO perspective than XYZ Photographer. In general, a.COM URL is better than.BIZ or.NET.COM is still the equivalent of oceanfront property. If you are targeting specific countries, than a.CA for Canada for example would be valuable. In general, your domain should:

Be short and direct; Match your product or service name Be Memorable; Avoid superlatives (best, top, etc.) Descriptive; and Easy to spell

What about hyphens? When it comes to hyphens, I feel strongly both ways! Using hyphens is a good idea for SEO and PPC, etc., but it does make your name harder to say and remember. Hyphens can be a very useful tool with multiple site approaches for single products and can help build your natural traffic. Use them with extreme caution for your main business page.

What about misspellings? You can use common misspellings to drive traffic to your site, but I do NOT recommend taking this approach with your primary site.

What about abbreviations? Unless you are a major corporation or happen to land a well know abbreviation it is not a good idea to use them. Refer to HiltonHeadWeddingPhotography example above.

What about numbers? Avoid them unless you have a very good reason. I have used 360 as a sub-domain to reflect a full view or complete view. Some folks use 411 in information niches, etc.

Should I grab the.NET,.MOBI names as well? There is no hard fast rule here. Sometimes I buy the alternative domains and sometimes I do not. If you think your competitors may try to leverage you work you could grab them. If you want to do some split testing with PPC or alternative copy and graphic tests, etc., these domains can be useful. Just be careful not to go to crazy, it can get quite expensive over time.

Where to register your domain? There are lots of great places to register your domain and some are betters than other. It is often a very good idea to register your domain with someone other than your hosting company. This will provide maximum control over your domain and your ability to change DNS, set up child name servers, etc. http://www.DennisStemmle.com

What Is a Virtual Server and Do I Need One?

If you have a growing or large Internet presence with numerous websites or a website that is quite large, you may want to consider your own virtual server. A virtual server is the step between having your websites hosted with a hosting service company such as HostGator versus having you own private server that is independent.

Let's say you have a website or blog that is hosted by "XYZ" company. "XYZ" takes care of all the operations in the background like keeping track of the bandwidth. Because you are just one of their customers using the server, you are limited in the amount of bandwidth you can use. If you go over your allotted bandwidth you will then need to purchase more through "XYZ" if they allow it.

These companies control the "back office" and you share their server terminals with all their other clients. The hosting company itself is an independent server. They own their own computer banks from which your services are run.

Where Does the Virtual Server Fit In?

A virtual server is somewhere in between these two types. If you had your own virtual private network or VPN, you would have total control of your back office. You are not limited to the amount of bandwidth you use and you can install the operating system of your choosing, such as Linux.

Keep in mind; it is more expensive to own a VPN rather than paying a monthly fee to a hosting service company. But if your company and websites are growing and you need more bandwidth then they can provide and you want control over everything including the "back office", then a VPN may be the perfect fit. In addition, having your own VPN reduces security risks.

One drawback to look into might be the element of support. Many hosting services operate under the assumption that if you have your own virtual server that you know what you're doing. Therefore, although they are available to help at any time, there is a fee for their support service which can be $75-$100 per issue.

A VPN allows you to connect to a secure network over a public Internet line to a service provider. Having your own VPN is good if you have the knowledge to operate it yourself or you can afford to have a webmaster to do the more difficult and complex functions required to manage it.

Growing Pains

If you feel you are at a place in your business that you can benefit by having your own virtual private network, check with hosting companies that provide VPN services.

What Is The Difference Between a Landing Page, Capture Page, Squeeze Page and Sales Page?

This question is one of the most common among Internet and Affiliate marketers who are just staring out. Let's discuss them one at a time and see if we can clarify the differences.

Capture Page, Lead capture page, Squeeze page: These are names for the same thing. These pages are designed to get the attention of the visitor and to squeeze them, capture them to optin to your newsletter or website. The entire purpose to convince the visitor they want to hear more from you and to do so, they have to optin by entering their contact details. This is mostly their name and email addresses. But, if you are really good and you have a well written page, you'll be surprised how much they will give you. Generally, the more info they provide on the optin, the more they trust you and the more likely they will buy something from you if not now, then in the future.

Landing Page: Please forgive the obvious here. A landing page is the page a visitor lands on after clicking on an ad. This might be from an Adwords campaign or from a different one. Nevertheless, they end up on the landing page.

Give them all the reasons they need to know to want what you have. In fact they want it so badly they can hardly wait to get to the next page where they can actually buy it.

This is the page where all the benefits are listed. Things like how great you feel now that you've used xyz products. Or this is how much weight I've lost or sales I've made, or hair I've grown etc. You get the picture.

This isn't the sales page so don't mention prices. If your landing page is good enough, they won't care. They'll be chomping on the bit to get to be able to buy it. It's all about benefits, not features. There is a big difference.

Benefits = "What's in it for me?" What will they get out of it? They don't care if it has 700 calories, or is 110 Watts or has this gizmo or that gadget. They want to be sold on what buying your service or product will do for them. Will they lose weight, will they see better with that light bulb or what will that gizmo or gadget do for them.

The landing page may also be an optin page, that's up to you, but more often than not it is the lead in to the sales page.

Sales Page: This is where the rubber meets the road. This is where you convince them to buy it. You've already told them why, remind them again and now tell them how.

Creating good sales pages takes skill and practice. Copywriting is a skill that can be learned but if you aren't interested in that side of things you can hire copywriters or buy landing page software programs with sales letter templates that you can edit to meet your requirements.

Your Own Website Vs Online Marketplace - What Do You Prefer?

Online marketplace is a much easier way of setting up an online store, you don't need any technical assistance, you don't have to brainstorm about the design and you don't have to bother about sales transactions; basically everything is spoon fed. All you need to do is list your products, receive traffic without much effort and pay a commission or fee to your marketplace. A very tempting and convenient 'short cut' to selling online.

But is that what you want? A shortcut? An easier way out? Your brand associated with another? No creativity of your own? You store controlled by a third party?

If that's what you want, then don't read any further, but if you are a true entrepreneur looking for professionalism then read further to know why we think that setting up your own website is far better than relying on marketplaces. It sure needs a lot of hard work and commitment, but that's what running a business is all about...isn't it?

So here are few points on why we think that you must have your own website or a blog:

How 'your' store functions and looks is determined by the marketplace.

1. There is not much difference between 'your' store and thousands of other stores in the marketplace.

2. You work by 'their' rules and regulations, you are held hostage by 'their' conditions and don't have much say about how you can run 'your' store.

3. Moreover, you have ended up in a place with neck to neck competition, in a marketplace you are competing with thousands of other artists as well.

4. You store is controlled by a third party, imagine if they decide to shut down their business...you will have to start all over again.

5. Most people who visit your shop in a marketplace are themselves selling something and are looking for inspiration, ideas or supplies.

6. Remaining people who land up in your store are there by chance, you don't have a brand or identity in a marketplace. 7. It depends on how and when someone stumbles in to your store.

8. On the other hand, having your own website with your company's name as domain makes you look far more professional.

9. If you have your own website, 'you' have complete control over the entire look, functionality of your shop and web presence.

10. You can have a professional email address, eg: "xyz@myownshop.com" rather than "abc@somemarketplace.com".

11. When selling through your website, you can get a clear picture of how much traffic you receive an how much more work needs to be done in order to increase that traffic.

12. If you have your own website then, 'you' decide who you are, how you sell, what you design and who you sell to. You have complete freedom on how you wish to market your shop.

Not that we have anything against online marketplaces, in fact it is a great way of understanding how e-commerce works. But if you want your business to flourish as per your rules, with a brand identity and with long term plans, then there is no other way than having your own website.

Lots of people will warn you about the hassles of building and designing a website, getting a merchant account, payment processor, shopping cart and handing security issues; and we would like to tell you that it is true, you will have to go through the trouble of setting up a new site from scratch. But if you are really serious about your business and are not just selling for the heck of it, then you will have to go through all these hurdles but the good news is that now you will know about intricate details of setting up 'your' shop and e-commerce; therefore you will have a much better understanding of how your shop works and what you can do to improve it.

There is another interesting way of setting up your online shop: open up a store in a marketplace to begin with, in the meanwhile start working on your website and build customers through the marketplace. When you think you are ready, all you need to do is direct your customers to your website.

How Do I Pick A Program to Start Making Money Online?

Picking a program that teaches you everything you need to know to get started online is quite the task these days. It is very difficult to sift through all the garbage and hype on the internet today. "Hype is not always bad." I know if I had my own program, I would want all the bells and whistles to let everyone know about it!

I myself have been sucked into many programs that did nothing for me--even when I was promoting my link like crazy and getting sign-ups! Now you don't always want to blow over the hype because an excellent program may be behind it. How will you know? Well, that will come with experience, but don't despair, even experience is not always foolproof!

You need to, and should, do some research on any program you are considering. Programs can run from Free, to Monthly Payments, or a One-Time payment which could be steep. I am not going to define "steep" because it differs with each individual and their needs. Steep could be $9.95 to someone in financial difficulty.

Just because a program charges a hefty price, does not necessarily make it good! And vice versa, just because a program is free, doesn't make it trashy! Look around, you may be surprised at how many free programs are out there and doing quite well! Another good type of research is through Forums, there are thousands on the internet. You do need to sign up in order to make posts. If you just want to read through the posts, no sign up is needed.

You could place posts asking if anyone knows about the xyz program and has anyone participated in the xyz program. You should get some honest feedback at forums. If it is an actual company that has been around for a while that you are thinking of joining, then by all means make sure you check with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). The BBB can be a life saver if a company does not deliver on it's promises.

I am sure you have seen many familiar faces and websites on the internet over and over again. Take a good look at their site, what are they promoting and how? Check out familiar faces or sites you trust, do they offer a helping hand in promoting this particular program that you are interested in? The reason is many top guns will promote for other top guns or for up and coming top guns, but ONLY if they truly believe in the product or program.

Bottom line is do some homework and research, if you feel good about a particular product or program, go for it. Look for a program that has everything in one place, nothing left out, one that will teach you everything you need to know in order to get started online. How will you ever gain experience if you don't experiment?

Free Domains: Advantages And Drawbacks

The very first step when you decide to set up your own website is choosing the domain name. You must register your own to use it for your website. A properly chosen domain name gives credibility and a professional look to your website.

Free Domain Name Registration

Registering your own domain name is not at all expensive, as it may appear to you if you are new to this area. In fact, on the Internet you can find many companies that specialize in free domain name registration and web page hosting.

Many people use these companies for free domain registration. For beginners who want to create their webpage to get their business or their company visible, the option of free domain name provides a good start. If you own a business that is small or if you are low on cash, getting a free registration is a lucrative option.

If you are going for a full-fledged website launch for your business and you expect your site to generate business for you, it is not a good idea to go for the free ones. Mostly, people use them for personal websites or sites they want to host for creating awareness about the product, that is, basically information-based websites. For serious businesses, though, those who need to create a name for the company and make it visible to potential customers; it is not the proper way to start your website, as it has some drawbacks.

Drawbacks Of Free Domains

The most apparent drawback is the trust that your potential customers and present customers have with your company. If they get to know that you are too cash strapped to pay for your domain name and are using a free service, their trust on your credibility will go down.

When you go for free domains, most of the companies require you to include a web host name into the domain name. If this is done, your website won't look like your own, as it will have an additional name attached to it. The chances of people remembering your domain name will suffer due to this confusion in the domain name.

Another drawback is that you have a limited choice for your domain name. If you go for a paid domain, you have more choices in terms of name, and you can search whether that name is available or not.

We define it as the name that refers to your website; for example, "http://www.abc.com" or "http://www.xyz.com". For a small company, a start up company or a new business, a good way to host a webpage is to avail the free service. But a conclusive research regarding the performance and reputation of the company has to be done. However, as the business grows and the company gets off the ground, transferring the free domain name to a paid registrar makes more business sense.
