The Best Products to Sell in Free Classifieds Websites

A bullet proof plan to make a living out of free classifieds is by knowing what the best products to sell online are. The topic revolves around going into the consumer's mind and since the internet is a collective meeting place of so many types of people being connected from across countries, there is no doubt that it will be hard to know what the public wants because the statistics of people alone will be overwhelming to consider. Some say that high sales with high profit could be reached with good strategy. Well, that is partly true. The fact of the matter is anything could be sold through classified advertising and gain a profit if you know what niche to target. However there are always commodities that are bought more than others.

The business of free classifieds is a form of retailing online. Generating big volume of sales will be tricky especially for beginners because this means finding products that actually sell. This could be rather tough in the start of business when the prospective businessman does not know what the high payoff products to sell are. So before starting up shop it is better to identify your products first.

There are four criteria that could be used to find the best products to sell. Note that a sellable product will have some to all of these traits. Firstly, a good product to advertise should be easy to create. The materials or the processes used to manufacture the product should not be too complex or hard that it will take years before it is finished. Look for immediate goods.

Next, find goods that are fast to bring to the market, meaning the product would either be high in demand, a product that could be continuously supplied, popular or known that even if you are in South Africa or any part of the world you would know it. Next, the product should be easily distributed. When deliveries are required there should be smooth flow from the source to the destination. So most probably goods that are light with no problems in transportation are good for transactions. And finally, the most obvious trait of a good product is that it is potentially more profitable than the rest.

Another tip for free classifieds advertising would be to try and find products that could form a repeat business. Example, if you sell a printer with a specific brand make sure that you also sell the ink cartridge for the printer because that is what people will continually buy.

A Clever Way to Bank an Extra R500 Every Week

Even though we're still languishing as the economy comes out of the recession, it should be fairly easy to find customers - pet lovers are almost always willing to make exceptions for their beloved critters. What's more, if your customers are happy, it's likely to result in repeat business and great referrals.

You'll need to establish yourself and build a good reputation. There are lots of ways to get exposure. Visit one of the websites below to sign up and create an online photo gallery. This will allow potential clients to browse through your portfolio:

How to sell your services

As with any business, be prepared to start out small. Once you've built up a regular client list and recovered your capital costs, you'll be able to reach a wider customer base. I suggest doing the usual like placing business cards and flyers wherever you can, but you should also use more of a direct approach with this. You'll definitely want to get in contact with vets, animal trainers, animal shelters, pet shops, dog clubs, bird clubs, etc. You can also offer them a commission for any business they send your way.

From the research I've done, you can easily charge between R350 and R450 an hour, depending on your level of experience.

Here's a look at how much you could make:

Printing costs:

.......................................................Printing Cost...............Mark-Up....................Profit

Jumbo Prints...............................................R4..........................R10.........................R6

20cm x 30cm Prints.....................................R30.........................R40.........................R10

40cm x 60cm Prints....................................R175........................R200.......................R25

Total......................................................R209.......................R250.......................R41

Profit:

...................................................Cost to you...................Cost to Client.............Total Profit

1 hour of photography................................R0...........................R350.......................R350

5 Jumbo Prints.........................................R20..........................R50..........................R30

2 of 20cm x 30cm Prints............................R60..........................R80..........................R20

1 of 40cm x 60cm Prints............................R175........................R200........................R25

Total.....................................................R255........................R680.......................R425

Now, imagine what you'd earn if you had ten clients like this? A whopping R4,250 profit!

There are also ways you can add value for your customers, e.g. by putting the picture in a nice frame. I'd advise you not to give customers the digital file since this would allow them to reprint as many copies as they want at no cost - unless of course they're prepared to pay for it. I know photographers can charge about R4,000 for a CD.

Handy hints

Pets are pretty unpredictable when it comes to photographing them. It's a good idea to practise on your friends' pets and your own if you have any. You need to work fast if you want to get good photos because animals are easily distracted. It's very helpful to have a digital camera with a fast shutter speed as well as a fast memory chip. I also advise doing shoots in the best natural light possible because your flash will likely frighten the animals. Don't stand still either - move with the pet.

Here are some helpful tips to perfecting your photos for each different animal:

* Cats - These furry friends are pretty difficult to photograph. It's not easy to get them to co-operate or stay still for very long. I suggest using a long lens and shooting from a distance. That way, they can relax in their own environment.

* Dogs - What with their playful and fun-loving nature, they're quite easy to work with. That doesn't mean they're going to sit still the whole time, though. I recommend using a fast shutter speed to get great pics.

* Birds - The smaller the bird, the harder it'll be to photograph. Parrots and other large birds are easier and more co-operative. You'll want to do close-ups of them since all their beauty is in their detail and colouring.

* Horses - It's really important to think about your safety when photographing these beauties. If you're not used to handling horses, it's best to have the owner or handler around when you're doing the shoot.

What are you waiting for? If you've got a camera handy - get started today!

Google Analytics 101 - What You Absolutely Need To Know

Whilst Google Analytics is probably the most important tool you will ever have at your disposal as an internet marketer, it is, no doubt, rather daunting at first. Not to worry though, here's what you ABSOLUTELY need to know...

Upon logging into Google Analytics, you will be greeted by a colourful looking dashboard (if you have more than one website, just select the one you want to look at). The dashboard is broken up into the following sections:

Site Usage
Visitors Overview
Map Overlay
Traffic Sources Overview
Content Overview

Site Usage

This section essentially covers the traffic/usage element of your website's metrics. Most importantly are visits, bounce rate and average time on site. "Visits" is the total number of visits to your site (by humans, not spiders) over the time period specified (top right hand corner). "Bounce rate" is the percentage of visitors who visit your website, and leave almost immediately (ie, non targeted visitors). An acceptable bounce rate varies from industry to industry, but try to keep it between 30% - 45%. "Average Time on Site" is as it says - is the average time each visitor spends on your site. You want to try increase this figure over time and get visitors to "hang around" - using video is a great way to achieve this.

Visitors Overview

Onthe surface, this is a simple line graph, providing a display of how many visitors you've had over the time specified time period. Click on the "view report" link for more in-depth details on these visitors.

Traffic Sources Overview

The goldmine of Analytics data - where is my traffic coming from. This displays the relative percentage of traffic originating from either search engines, referring site or direct visits. Ideally, you'll want to increase your search traffic (either organically or using PPC) over time. Once again, clicking the "view report" link will provide in-depth data on the sources. Check who's referring the most traffic and see if you can capitalize on it. Also, have a look at the keywords that you're featuring for in search engines and consider optimizing for them (if you haven't already done so).

Content Overview

This area simply shows you what your visitors are looking at (the "/" means your home page). You may be surprised to see that your visitors are spending a lot of time on your internal pages, which means you'd better ensure that the content is top notch!

And that is the Google Analytics dashboard in a nutshell. As long as you understand what these main metric represent, you will be able to fiddle and figure the more complex metrics out along the way. It's amazing how much rich data Analytics provides, and best of all, its free!

How to Doctor SEO

Recognizing the value of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is now all in the past. Search engine optimization can be a powerful tool to help potential customers find your site. If used correctly, SEO can increase potential visitors by up 45% within one month according to seminsights.com, Viva SEO....

Why Build a Website? #1 Communication

A business owner once asked me why I thought he should have a website for his business. I answered him with the following question:
Tell me something about your business without using your mouth or any form of movement either with your hands or body gestures.

For the next minute I stood and watched as tried to figure how he could do this. Frozen in his state he began to realise what I meant. The point I'm trying to make is that a website offers a lot more than what you can offer as a business owner.

It can communicate with someone without you even knowing about it. It can communicate with multiple people at the same time, so whether you have 1 visitor to your website or whether you have 10 000 people visiting your website, they all can read about your business at the same time. More importantly than this is the fact that your website can communicate all the time with people you wouldn't even know about. I'll make an example of this quickly:

Imagine that this note is a page on my website and you are a visitor to my website reading this page. While you are reading this page, in your mind you could be picturing me sitting in front of my computer typing out this page word for word as you are reading but the reality is far from that.

So you're probably wondering what this has to do with a business? It's quite easy to see that your website will act as your spokesperson on your behalf when you're not around. Greeting visitors, supplying information about your products, services, offering money saving tips or contact details and how to get hold of you all while you are watching the 7de laan.

Many people use the internet for the purposes of getting hold of either plumbers or electricians or whatever they are looking for, so much so that they won't use the yellow pages which is normally laying somewhere in the office. I can't remember when last I used the yellow pages looking for something, all I do these days is Google it.

How you communicate with the audience of your website will also determine whether or not they use your services or whether they will recommend it to their friends or family but this we will cover in my upcoming notes.

Please leave your creative or interesting comments or questions below.

What is Data Entry?

There are a lot of Data Entry openings on oDesk, Freelancer, vWorker, eLance and other Freelancing sites. These are the least paying jobs in the industry but they can certainly help you to get your foot into the door of the freelancing world.

Data Entry projects usually entails the entry/update/price fixing of products on eCommerce sites.

When accepting an opening as a Data Entry contractor you will have to be able to do all the above mentioned.

eCommerce sites usually have a Backend and a Frontend.

The Frontend is the actual site which is visited by the business' customers. This is where they can browse available products and purchase what they are interested in.

The backend is the administration area. This is where the site owner manages the site by adding payment gateways, special, products, reviews and prices. The backend also contains important information about the site such as 'the most viewed' products which will give the website owner an idea on what products receive the most attention.

The website owner will also be able to send out marketing letters and keep an eye on sales and problems regarding the site.

As a Data Entry Contractor, you will have access to these as well, but you are not allowed to change anything except when you are explicitly asked to do so. The employer trusts you with his livelihood and therefore it is not your place to niggle with basic settings!

Your job is to enter products and editing according to the guidelines received from the employer.

When adding a product there are four things that you will have to look at:

Adding the product

You will receive a product name and a product description. Product names are given in a certain way for SEO optimizing and should be used exactly as given to you. The description of the product should also contain the name of the product exactly as given to you. Make sure that the font and font size used is easy to read and that, when you access the product on the main site, it looks nice. Justification must be done and make sure that there are spaces between the paragraphs.

Adding Attributes

Attributes are the changeble things on a product. For example T-shirts that come in sizes S, M, L, XL and different colours. These are the attributes. Make sure that you follow the instructions of the contractor to the letter.

Categories

Products need to be categorized. You cannot have hundreds of products without some kind of order. Make sure that you add the product in the correct category.

Search Engine Optimization

This is where you will add the keywords. The keywords you use should be in the description of the product. You cannot use 'shirt' in the keywords when the product is a skirt without a shirt. It is really very simple.

It might sound very complicated to you but after you have done the first ten or so, you will have the hang of adding products and the basic rel=nofollow [http://money.sa-linx.co.za]Data Entry requirements.
