We are bombarded with so many ways to do things these days; I want to help you get started on the right path... Where do you start? These 10 areas will help you get there... Step 1: Identify Your Gifts- What is your passion? What makes people want to do business with you? What makes people want to work with you, follow you or hold on to every word you have to say? Figuring this out is crucial to getting the customers YOU want and the customers that will stay with you. Ask Yourself: a) What makes me different than my competition?b) Why should people listen to me?
c) What gifts do I have to share that others will rave about?
d) What are your strengths? Have you discovered these?
d) When you go into a book store, what section do you gravitate to? Why?
f) What are you GREAT at?
g) What do people tell you all the time (the good stuff;-)
h) If money were NO object, what would you definitely be doing right now? WHY? "DREAMS COME TRUE IF YOU HAVE ONE" What is yours? Step 2: What do you Value? What are your values? Have you identified them? Have you done the work? There are many ways to identify your values. Once you do, than you are able to wake up each day, with a mission, a passion, a drive that will keep you motivated, focused and jazzed to keep working at Step 3: What is your MISSION STATEMENT? What do you ultimately want for your self, your family, your business, your future business? What is the outcome? What is the WHY??? Is it to secure a future for your children? To live the life you were meant to live? STEP INTO that life RIGH NOW. What does it look like? Who is surrounding you? What are you feeling? What are you doing? What are you wearing? What do you smell? How are you standing? How are you breathing? What are you saying? What is being said to you? STEP INTO THAT GREATNESS RIGHT NOW. Feel it! As you are in that place, WRITE YOUR MISSION STATEMENT... what is the WHY? Here are some examples to help you get started: I enable_________
It is my dream, may passion to_____________
It my mission to_______________
The only way to achieve my ultimate dream of ___________ is to ________________. Step 4. Name Your Business Category or NICHE- Is there a desire or need for what it is you do? How do you figure this out? a) If there is a magazine published targeting that market, there is a need and a want for what you do. Go the book store and look at the magazines. Go to Amazon and check out the top 25 magazines.
b) Go to forums where your ideal client hangs out and see who is there, what they are talking about, what they are complaining about! If this is difficult to find, you may be targeting the wrong client.
c) Go to Meetup.com and do some investigating. See how many people are joining specific groups, join them and ask them, what is their biggest problem they wish would be solved?
d) Go to ClickBank.com. If there are products being sold in your niche, than that is super! If there isn't much going on, you might need to rethink your niche.
e) Keyword research! Type in your keywords in quotes and see what happens! On the left hand side, you will see 'organic' listings. On the right you will see 'paid' or sponsored listings. If these two columns are full, than you know people are searching for what you have to offer. Step 5: Identify Your IDEAL Target market. Not just any old Joe. Identify WHO you will help and what problem you will solve for them? WHO is your ideal client? Are they HUNGRY for what you have to offer? Are they willing to pull out their credit cards and PAY YOU for what you do? What you have to offer? What do THEY want? Where do these people hang out? What do they read? Where do they shop? How many children do they have? Are they married? Divorced? Single? Women? Men? Have pets? Step 7: The Brand of YOU. YOU are the brand. YOU are what people are going to buy from. What will make YOU stand out? How will people identify you? The skincare diva? The money making master? Do you have a specific color you wear when you network? Do you have a professional head shot of you? Do you know what colors look best on you and for what occasions? Step 8: Register a Domain Name! Think of something catchy, not too long, but describes what you do and who you are. If you are a fitness trainer, you might want to try getfitwithdenise.com.. Please try to reserve a .com It is the most popular and most searched by the search engines. Take your time and play around with this. Step 9: Get a hosting company. I like Hostgator. They are 10 bucks a month and have very user friendly tools and videos! Step 10. Set up a blog: There are free sites to get started with this. rel=nofollow [http://www.wordpress.org]http://www.wordpress.org, rel=nofollow [http://www.typepad.com]http://www.typepad.com. They are simple to get started with. A quick way to get a blog installed on your domain is to go into the Cpanel of your hosting company and find your newly registered domain name. You can then click on a program called FANTASTICO. Once you do this, you can then quickly have word press installed on that specific domain name! EASY! There you have it!
