There's many of you out there looking at getting involved in a home based business or already apart of one. For the majority of you, that's probably in a network marketing or direct sales industry, and why not Both Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki have both said that these are actually great viable ways to help you on the road to success by being able to learn the crucial skills you're going to need.
Today I'm going to give you a little insight into the overall four stages you're going to experience on your journey.
Stage 1 - Newbie
This is where you first venture in and have already chosen your vehicle that's going to get you started on your path. You're full of excitement, because everything is so fresh and new. You're out there trying to learn what you can and attempting to make your investment back as soon as possible looking for confirmation that you've made a sound decision. You can't wait to mention it to everyone and why not, you're your own boss now. Those people at work had better watch out, because you're days at the 9to5 are numbered, but you're also willing to bring those along that have done you right along the way.
You know success for your home business is right around the corner and you can't wait.
Stage 2 - Questioning (AKA The Dip - thank you Seth Godin)
By this point you've perhaps been in your business a while now, 6 months or more, and you haven't seen the return on your investment yet. You contemplate sometimes whether or not you should give up. You occasionally dodge criticism or jokes on your behalf asking how the business is working out for you. You're kind of discouraged to talk to some people, because why would you want to bring someone into something like this, especially close friends and family to feel the frustration you do. You wonder how anyone can find success in a home business.
Many of you will quit by this point. You'll blame it on the product, the company, perhaps say it was a scam, basically any excuse to give yourself to make you feel better about your decision.
Those few that persevere and continue to move forward will hunker down again, start looking for answers that they might have missed and start looking for all kinds of solutions to their various struggles within business. Many times they will start buying a myriad of different courses and start spending a lot more money than they're taking into the business. They have convinced themselves, however, that they're not going to give up.
Stage 3 - Experience and Skill
By this point you begin to realize you've gained some of the knowledge and skills you're going to need to be successful. You're feeling a little more confident, but still fear something is missing. You know success is right around the corner in your home business, but you're not quite there yet and you're aware of it.
You start to see some results, but not totally what you originally had in mind when you started, but you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and realizing that it is a viable enterprise. You also realize that it can't be much more than what you already know. Heck you've already surpassed all those that gave up before you.
Many of you will realize at this point that it's more about the internal you, the mindset game that perhaps is holding you back. You start learning more and more about mindset, start seeking out those experts to help you get your head in the game and in the right place. For many mindset is the final key. It can be that brick wall, once you learn to knock it down then you'll be on easy street. You're also spending more time on reading and improving yourself over a lot of the courses and so called secret solutions out there.
Stage 4 - Success
At the final stage looking back you realize you made it a lot harder than it should have been, but then hindsight is always 20/20. You're feeling elated, why, because you've got it all figured out. Your minds in the right place, your skills are mastered and you're feeling invigorated to try out new techniques and new ventures. Perhaps take on a second network marketing company. At this point you've realized that you're the most important part of the equation and to do it in a 2nd company will just affirm that all for you. You've got the mindset needed and the confidence to carry you through.
You begin to look back at the 97% that didn't make it this far. You kind of which at times you could go back and help those that didn't make it, now that you know the answers, it's much easier to share and coach them onto others. You're looking forward to a leadership role to help many more get to where you are. You also realize that mindset is one of the major keys.
At this point you're getting the freedom you desired initially and if you haven't already you start contemplating when to quit your job, not wishing you could. You've created a passive income stream, gotten yourself out of bad debt and see how bright the future really is for someone with your potential.
Once you've reached the fourth and final stage you know that you can do it again and again, regardless of the system or product. You can find additional opportunities to duplicate what you've created and continue to build your business, and with the right financial education you'll be able to pass on one heck of a legacy to your children.
