Building a successful six figure business is a pretty big aspiration for most of us and can even seem impossible. With the right tools and mindset it doesn't have to be. Here is a simple cycle, which if used will start you on your path and keep you there. It all starts with a dream, continues with focus and application and ends with achieving your dream. From here you create an even bigger, better goal to aim for and so the cycle goes on.
1) Have Dreams
You need to know what you are working towards and what your end gain is, in order to keep you focused and motivated. Don't think of this in terms of a figure, think of what achieving that dream will give you. Ask yourself the following; What will it allow me to do? What will I be able to stop doing? How will I feel? What will my life look like?
Make your dreams big, so big that you think you're being outrageous and be really specific about what it is that you want. Write it all down. It will force you to think about it and it will give you something to refer to, when you need a reminder of why you're doing what you're doing
2) See the Big Picture
You might not know how you're going to get to where you want to be. Don't worry about that. You set your goals and let your unconscious mind worry about how to get you there. You cannot consciously conceive what you haven't yet experienced, or at least heard of, so don't limit yourself to only what you already know.
3) Know Exactly What You Want Next
As well as huge dreams, you need to know what you want next - little stepping stones if you like. It's a bit like planning a round the world trip, you need to know which country you want to visit next.
4) Never Miss An Opportunity
This one speaks for itself. Always be on the lookout for new possibilities. It's a bit like looking at the world through x-ray specs- you need to notice things you haven't before and to seek out opportunity everywhere. When you do find something, proceed directly to number 5!
5) Take Action Immediately
Success and wealth wait for no man! No time for procrastination or sitting on the fence. You must strike while the iron's hot. It may not always be something big, but it does need to be something purposeful that will take you a step closer to your goal.
6) Don't Be Afraid to Invest Time and Money
You cannot build a business without investing time and money. You need to embrace this concept in order to move forward. Some of the most successful people I have met, have at some point been bankrupt and even homeless. You have to spend money to make money and regardless of how intelligent or educated you are, your business will grow faster if you work hard.
7) Never Give Up
This is perhaps the most important one of all. Whatever you decide to do in life, there will be times where things don't go to plan and you may even fail on occasion. If however you can pick yourself up, analyse the situation to see what went wrong and move forward, you will not have failed. See each setback as a lesson; learn what it has to teach you and do something differently the next time.
Once you reach a goal, you simply go back to number 1 and start again, with an even bigger, brighter dream!
