You just get home after a hard day and the last thing you want to think about the work that needs to be done getting your network marketing business off the ground. There are so many things that you have learned in the past few months and they need to be implemented to get your business off to the right start. You can think of 50 different things that you need to do. Dinner, a load of laundry, read the paper, watch your favorite movie on the television.
But wait! Lets look at that list again. The last two really are not something you have to do. Yes, it would be nice, but so would being able to turn in your 2 week notice to your boss. Are you really so tired that you are willing to give up the good life you so often see in your dreams? I had a friend tell me once, "If you do today what others won't, then you can do tomorrow what others can't." I think that is a wonderful way to look at the business of network marketing. Are you willing to make the little sacrifices now, so you can reap the great rewards later.
When you get home, one of the first things that needs to be done is to find out if you have any new leads. Look at your emails, your auto responders, listen to your phone messages and follow up on them asap. The longer you delay contact with your new prospects, the smaller the chance they will become part of your down line. Time is of the essence. Do not delay.
Look at your calendar. Is there a webinar or a meeting that you need to attend? Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our busy "work" schedule that we often forget that meeting that seemed so important to RSVP to. You might not remember the reason now, but usually a few minutes into it you remember why it was important. Sometimes that is all it takes for you to become excited and ready to tackle the menial work that you need to get done. Listening to those who you want to duplicate their success is a great motivator.
A good way to stay on track is with a planner. Write down what you need to accomplish every day and do not sit down to rest until you do. Make sure you have a big red pen to check these items off as you go. There is a great feeling of accomplishment when you are able to complete a task as you go.
While you are going about the tasks, make sure you are constantly reminding yourself as to why you have to do them. A few good examples are; To be able to quit my job. To be able to pay off my house, or put my kid through college debt free. Whatever it is that makes you want to get out of the rat race and into the good life. Remember, If you do today what others won't, then you can do tomorrow what others can't.
