When I started online in 2006, WordPress was difficult for me to understand. I ended up setting up my sites using Typepad, a blogging platform that was much easier for me to use and understand. During that first year I made a study of WordPress and was soon able to transfer everything over. There was a steep learning curve, but I just kept chipping away at it every day until I was able to make the transition. You will find that it is challenging to learn new technology, and you will be very proud of yourself as you accomplish more over time.

Managing your time will be crucial to your success. Depending on the responsibilities you may have at home, whether it is with caring for young children or elderly parents, or even a health issue of your own. You may be working full time or part-time outside of your home right now. Even if it seems like everyone is pulling you in a different direction from what you would choose for yourself, it is possible to find some time each day to build your online business.

Set a goal for what you would like to accomplish during the next thirty days, and another one for what you want to achieve within six months. Now go about the process of learning what you need in order to go from where you are right now to where you would like to be. I found that everything took me longer during that first year. Then something clicked for me and my productivity began to skyrocket. You can build a profitable online business if you are willing to take action and keep moving forward.
