Many MLM representatives start their new business with making a list of 100 or more people they know. This is the first prospecting list that it is recommended you bring to a presentation or home meeting and show them the opportunity. While many studies have mentioned the average person knows between 250 and 300 people.

Most of these friends and family members are busy with their own personal and family lives and most aren't interested in starting their own business. As such, the 1% law of marketing prevails and the average network marketer enrolls 2-3 people prior to running out of their prospect list.

Thinks about this, in that process the average new business owner will be told "No" over 200 times. While "No" is an inevitable part of the business, this is definitely not going to help people maintain their strong belief in the company and keep a positive attitude. So once the warm market is depleted, then what?

Henry Ford was quoted saying "Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." Looking back at the list of friends and family, it is easy to see that most weren't remotely the business partner you were looking for, but you went ahead and called anyway during the rush of excitement.

So where can one find qualified leads? By utilizing marketing techniques such as the internet, written word and telephone you can begin identifying and speaking to potential partners from the comfort of your own home. The big difference is that in this case everyone you speak to will be someone who has already expressed an interested in what you currently have to offer. While this will not eliminate hearing "No", this will definitely make the "Yes" much more prevalent which not only helps your attitude and belief, but also really impacts the bottom line.
