Not just any product will do, you have to find products that people already want or need to buy to have a successful work from home business. When evaluating the choices, there must be a demand for the product, accompanied with competition and market share to have a long run.

The first step is determining what the requirement is of each customer when making a purchasing decision. All purchases fall into one or more of the following three categories: want, need, and expectation.


Need.


Need is the basic requirement buyers are experience when purchasing. These items are what each of need to be happy.


Wants.


Wants are simply items we want to purchase, but do not need to survive. An example may be an expensive car. Our needs can be fulfilled with a less expensive car, but our wants direct us to the flashier expensive car.


Expectations.


Expectations are the intangible associated with a product. Expectation is part of our want.


Example: I need to buy food to eat. I want to buy the cheesecake for desert. I expect the strawberry topping, ummmmm.


The second step in determining what hot product you will sell is the level of competition in the market. Contrary to what most people think. You should look for markets where there is a considerable amount of competition. The fact is that if there is competition, then someone is making money. If a market has a large customer base, then you only need a small piece of market share to make money. Contrary, if you enter a small market, then you are competing with the bigger guys for a smaller number of customers, which means you need more customers to make the same amount of money.


Example: At a well stocked lake, there 1000 fisherman competing to catch their share of 10,000 fish. While at another lake, which is never stocked, there are 200 fishermen competing to catch their share of 100 fish. Moral of the story: always fish where the big boy are.


The third factor to finding hot selling products is determining if there is a demand. Simply put, if there isn't much need or want from potential customers, along with much competition, then the odds are against you. A simple way to find out is ask your friends and family. You could also go to EBay, enter the item into the search bar, and judge the results. You can also do the same with Google, and Amazon.


If there are a large number of returns, then you may be on your way to finding your hot selling product for your work from home business.
